I'm kinda a bit past that point. The trade could still fall through though. Just how rare is a 1200XL anyway? I read somewhere that 800s were more desirable and easier to find on EBay. Gunstar
My Intellivision that I'm trading him is COMPLETE, excellent condition, with all hookups and 11 games, 10 of which are boxed, in mint or near mint condition with all overlays/manuals etc. the 1200XL I'm getting, from what I understand, comes with nothing, except a basoc cart, not even a power pack or tv cord! He can't even say if it WORKS and the 1200 is NOT rare, just about every dealer listed on AA has them for sale, new, used, reconditioned. plus others! here a perfect example of MY system being worth much more! both are sold at 4jays, the Intellivision for $70, the 1200Xl for $49! look here: http://www.4jays.com/intellivision.html same dealer: http://www.4jays.com/atari8bit.html he's getting a MUCH better deal than me, as far as monitary value goes! I may get stuck with a 1200xl that down't even work for all I know, and I'm still willing to take a chance and trade him for my top quality INTV stuff! do you guys REALLY know the values and rarity of ANYTHING? C'mon now. I don't think anyone's trying to flame your trade, or suggest that Kepone's getting a bad deal. You guys have obviously made a trade that you both agree with, and that's great. My apologies if I stepped out of line; I was just articulating my own position.
Brad2600
I thought about it and I do agree regarding getting a good deal. When I first got the 1200XL, I only intended for it to be trade bait. However, I am starting to get interested in older computers..having picked up a perfectly working C64 monitor at a thrift...no disk drive or main CPU though. I think it's a trade I'm willing to make. It's worth a shot. I appreciate your opinion, DavidCalgary and I'm not insulted in any way. I only asked for advice on whether or not I should trade...and I got some advice. I do plan to explore Atari computers again in the near future. The INTV is the last classic system I plan to get for a long time..focusing mostly on games. Curt Vendel
nukey? do i write the number in front of the line?? I plant to do it now! Yes...line numbers are required for all 8-bit Basic programs. Don't "Basic XE" and "Basic XL" automatically number lines for you? *sighs* It's been so long that I can't even remember! Basic XL was originally going to be an Atari product, OSS (Paul Laughton - not spelling that right) wrote it as a new version of Basic. I don't recall at this moment the exact reason Paul said that Atari didn't pick it up, but thankfully it got released through OSS and came out, Basic XL and the Basic XE languages are great... If you really want to try a great version of Basic, D/L a copy (or I think you can purchase a PD disk from B&C) of TurboBasic, well worth it! Nukey Shay
Looks like I messed up a bit... Corrected lines: 115 GRAPHICS 8:POKE 710,0:COLOR 1 160 DRAWTO 27,142: PLOT 30,145 190 RAD:PI=3.1415926:CO=COS(A*PI/180):SI=SIN(A*PI/180) ...removed the = in 115, changed the decimal to a comma in 160, and switched from using degrees to radians in 190. To import this program using Atari800Win's hard drive, you need to change all PC carriage returns in the text into the character › (not ‹ as I previously posted). If you leave the PC returns in, it will generate errors when you try to ENTER"H:GUN.TXT"
