"just someone that got conned my a great con artist"

How can this be Happening. Well, I have to give the Retro VGS one Thing: When we think it's impossible something more outrageous will come, it actually does. Now I'm even afraid to think AGAIN that this whole mess is over. And about throwing those moulds down Mount doom? I'd be thinking about that at this Point. This is just surreal.

Is there a convention or something coming up? That's the only reason I could even think of for this random lashing out to even appear. "Maybe if I start laying out my sob story now, I can show my face at Video Game Con 2016!"

Maybe RETRO round #3 kickstarter, gotta get that cash in to pay for the remaining problems with round #2 :lolblue:

im not buying the sean robinson thing at all. after all this crap, we are being led to believe that mike sent multiple checks to some random guy that he had no info on? after all that has happened with this thing, we are supposed to take mike at his word? that he was so foolish that he let someone rip him off and make him look like a fool and we are supposed to believe it? seems awful easy to say 'oh, this guy ripped me off' without providing any actual proof, and the other dude no matter what isnt going to defend himself. if theres no proof of what he's saying with that, then its as good as a total lie as far as im concerned, and this is the same kind of crap that got mike in trouble in the first place, making stuff up and providing no proof. dont buy it. dont even read it. this is so ridiculous at this point that i am wondering what he thought he had to gain by not taking this crap to the grave with him.

At this point, Mike could tell me that the sky is blue and I wouldn't believe him.

Was Sean Robinson's name briefly floated as Mr. Lee by someone in a podcast somewhere?  Like CUPodcast or RetroGamingRoundup?  Or was that someone else?  I got deja vu when I saw Kennedy's first link.

Yes,I remember distinctly hearing a podcast where "Sean" name was thrown around and if memory serves it was the one with UKMike and Pipercub (and maybe Piko).

I think I even added it to one of my posts but I ain't going back 150 pages to find it.

EDIT: or not, can't remember.

The good scammer always creates a believable story where he is the victim of an unverifiable 3rd party and is just as mad about it as you!  This is often a dead relative, but old internet scammer from 15 years ago works about as well.

Classic...

In any case because I like to speculate, if we assume for a moment that neither me nor PlayWithWolfes are having a senile moment and indeed the name "Sean" was thrown in, a question arise.

How did the guy throwing in that name knew?

Some sleuth work is of the essence but going thru podcast is even more tedious than going thru 316 pages of posts here.

Yes! I finally have a good reason to jump in on this train wreck. I don't know Mike K. besides briefly meeting him at some shows but boy do I know Sean Robinson! After reading Mike's story I would not be surprised if that is exactly how everything went down. Sean is a geuine old school con man. He scammed me and many of my friends. I have spent countless hours dealing with this bozo's nonsense. It will take some digging but I have a huge list of people he has scammed.

Yeah that name is ringing a bell in the back of my mind somewhere.  I'm trying to think of where I've heard his name before.

I am having trouble posting the long list I have.  It may have to wait until this evening.  Sean Robinson is "seanhq" on AA.

Was Lee a scanner? It's a moot point. This boy cried 'wolf' before. Even if it's all true, there's a bad track record. On a side note, how much did Kevtris want for his cores, compared to what might or might not have been spent on the Lee cores?

Kennedy is a marketing guy, not a management guy. Stick to marketing. Let someone else handle recruiting and decision making. No matter how you spin it, that's why this failed. Again.

So Mike Kennedy breaks his silence after what a month?  Yeah, sorry but I don't believe anything that cluster of words he wrote says.  It all rings of "it wasn't me, i'm a victim" or in other words bullsh*t.  Just come clean man.  You screwed up and tried to pull the wool over other peoples' eyes.

Know Sean Robinson and the damage he can do very well.    I feel good to be one of the first people to public ally stand against him.  It is pretty bad when you ask someone not to attend a charity video game show.    Words cant describe how much damage one person can do.   Too many incidents to list, but worked with Y-bot to uncover them.  That is all I really am going to say, other than I am one of the lucky people that did not get too much scammed from him.  He uses people, gains trust, and does just the bare minimum of legit things to cover his tracks.  I joked with my good friend that I was sure that Coleco debacle was his fault long ago without knowing anything else.

Wait?  Are you siding with Mike?  The dude is just as culpable as anyone else that helped in the deception.  His post on here is nothing more then an attempt at pushing blame on to others.  Mike knew what he was doing, he wasn't a victim in this.

Not siding with Mike, just stating that I know Sean Robinson and what he can do, thats all.

OK found my old post:

In the interview with Piko they say (one of the interviewers, not sure which one) Lee is suspected to be a certain Marshall Lee.
They say we at AA actually came up with that name, I don't recollect any of that.

So I'll play along and report it here.

Funny thing there's one Marshall Lee (in Linkedin) in Orange County CA with a profile related to hardware engineering, ASICs, semiconductors.
Not sure he's connected or not, likely just an homonym. His company (enmotus) seems to specialize in cloud hybrid storage solutions, so I hope he's the wrong match.

I wonder if I misheard Shawn for Marshall .... now back to listening to that podcast ... sigh!!!

I hope that Albert is actually getting the tooling.  Ever since this began with the Retro VGS, the only thing I could think about was the tooling being used to make Jag stuff again.

I want proof that you're actually giving the Jaguar molding tools to Albert,Mike

Just caught up on all of this.

I have a lot of sympathy for Mike. I dealt extensively with Sean Robinson, though I was never pulled in by any of his scams. I watched him scam others many times, as well as destroy friendships. He is very good at conning people, and I know at least 10 people that he played up here in the Pac NW. He is seriously some kind of sociopathic, compulsive liar. I have never met anyone like him. We are talking absolutely insane levels of dishonesty and manipulation. I feel very sorry for a few friends of mine who suffered from his machinations

Ironically, a friend and I have been remarking about how much this whole Chameleon thing reminded us of one of his scams... and here he is, dead center in the mess.

He will pop up again, and he will pull this shit again. Fair warning. Do NOT trust Sean Robinson. Ever.

I have no reason to not believe Mike.

I just think he never really understood the true cost or effort that would go into this project.

I don't know this Sean Robinson, but the fact people are starting to focus on him is exactly what Mike's post was meant to do.  Don't let issues with Sean blind you from Mike, don't let him dip under the radar.  Cause that is what he wants.

We have a few new faces entering this discussion for the first time, each claiming Sean Robinson is the fourth horsemen of the apocalypse but not explaining why. Is it that hard to explain what he did instead of leaving incredibly vague and generalized statements?

I hope I'm not the only one who read these "Sean Robinson has blood on his hands, he almost got me!" posts that offer no further information and wants details. Please humor us, we've got all day. There's not a lot of ways to scam the retro gaming crowd unless you have an Air Raid production line. If there really is this mythical man out there who makes his living scamming retro game collectors then his whole life's story is probably worth it's own thread.
