Amityville315
I'm about 10 games away from completing a 5200 collection but really don't see myself completing it. Yesterday, I picked up a bunch of games, including some of the rarer ones like Frogger 2, Zone Ranger and Zenji. It also included 007 which seems to be universally ripped in reviews. Does anyone enjoy these games below?: 007 Mr. Do's Castle Space Shuttle Blue Print Quest for Quintana Roo Decathalon Krazy Shoot Out Zenji If so, what is it that you like about them? I'm curious to see if these games have any fans.

I personally suck at it but haven't given it serious gameplay . 007 is one that I can't stand playing . I think Zenji could be a decent game if you figure out how to play it and the same as Blue Print .
jetset
Quest for Quintana Roo is a great game! K-Razy Shoot Out is a decent enough game, though an obvious ripoff of Berzerk. I enjoy Decathalon as well, and Mr Do's Castle is a fun game.
BassGuitari
007 Mr. Do's Castle Space Shuttle Blue Print Quest for Quintana Roo Decathalon Krazy Shoot Out Zenji I bought Mr. Do's castle mainly for my collection; I played it a little bit when I got it to test it out but couldn't get into it. Don't care much for 007, Space Shuttle, Blue Print, or Decathlon on other systems, either, so it isn't the 5200's problem. I've got Quintana for Colecovision and could never figure it out; I don't own the 5200 version but I imagine it's similar. I don't have and have never played Zenji so I can't comment on that, but I like K-Razy Shoot-out on the 400/800. I didn't know it was supposed to be bad on the 5200. I'm surprised Gorf didn't make your list. That seems like one of the most-hated 5200 games, but I think it's pretty cool, personally. That's a good point. I'm a pretty vocal supporter of the 5200 controllers, but the game is otherwise unplayable because of the way it was programmed. It's a great port, pretty close to the coin-op apart from the missing stage. There's a playable bin floating around where the controller scheme was fixed and it's perfect to play. But yeah, the cartridge itself is torture.

It's just very literal about stick position.
Ransom
I like Blue Print. The 5200 version is my favorite port of the game. It's not a top fave, but it's one I do pull out regularly. I like the randomness and the whimsy of it.
Nutsy Doodleheimer
Mr. Do's Castle and Blue Print are some of my favorites for the system. Blue Print always seems to get a lot of hate and underappreciated. I love Decathlon for the 2600 but never got a chance to play it on the 5200 fearing that I'll break off the joystick. Krazy Shootout is a decent Berserk clone. James Bond is garbage and one of the worst 5200 games.
jetset
I dunno, I can play it alright. It's just very literal about stick position. I'm impressed! I'm about as much an admitted fanboy of the 5200 as anyone (and yes the controllers too) but even I can't play Gorf and have bitched about it! Such a shame, I bet Gorf would be great with the Trak-Ball! Edited January 3, 2016 by jetset

Such a shame, I bet Gorf would be great with the Trak-Ball! Well, I wouldn't say I'm great at it or anything, but I can usually clear the game a few times. The controls just take a little practice, and of course a good controller makes all the difference. The absolute joystick position thing probably wasn't ideal, but I think it's not really as bad as it is just different. (IMO the C64 version is the best anyway.) And...wait...Atari 5200 fanboy? Those exist?! Do they troll around Coleco and Intellivision forums and attempt to discredit the NES?
killersquirel
Zen is an amazing game on every platform that it was released for. Such a cool puzzle game! One of my favorites for the 5200.
Noah98
I like K-Razy Shootout. Of course I only paid $1 for it at a local game store! It's a fun Berzerk clone.

Hell no! I love those systems too! Though the Intellivision forum is 25% non-Intellivision related spam, but that's not the systems fault.
Ransom
The 5200, Intellivision, and Colecovision are the most important pre-crash consoles to own, IMO (2600 games can be run on an adapter for any of them). The bacon? That's just a nice bonus.

I love the Intellivision but I pretty much never post in that forum anymore. I have little to contribute to whatever nonsense goes on over there now . It used to be about the games, but now it's all bacon, Bea Arthur, brotherhoods, Donkey Kong box variants, and $70+ homebrews (not even limited edition, but produced in such small numbers that they may as well be). I used to post there frequently, years ago, but the newer, more--shall we say, "zealous?"--members and the content they create have kind of boxed me out.

ave1
I've been contemplating buying a modded NES to Intellivision gamepad, so I can get a fresh experience replaying some of those games that are favorites of mine.

I dunno. I think I'd want that Amiga joystick with the flip keypad for the Intellivision, if I had an Intellivision, of course.

Did they make one for Intellivision? I've got a broken ColecoVision version somewhere. Stands to reason there's probably an Intellivision version but I don't think I ever heard of one. I've got the Coleco version of the Wico keypad + Joystick combo controller, and I know there's an Intellivision version. (Honestly, although the keypad is really nice, like an old school touch-tone phone, the original controllers are better.)

Amityville315
Feel free to add any to the list. Astrochase? There are about 10 games I don't have and that is one of them. I vaguely remember seeing it played with the spaceship intro, but never experienced the actual gameplay.
Inky
I don't think anybody likes any version of 007. It's universally panned across all platforms.I used to enjoy Space Shuttle. It's by no means an easy game, but for what it was, it was very innovative.
