Diverse Data Products MFD 1080 disk Drive

I just purchased this drive from eBay. Does anyone have any information about it. A search in Google resulted in practically nothing.

WoW, that's is inserting 3rd party hardware. I do have the IB drive 5 1/4" only if it's any thing like my drive your going to need a driver to use the 5 1/4" drive in TOS when your replace it.

That is why the post here. I cannot find much on Google about this drive. If nothing else, it is a piece of ST peripheral history.

 

At the very least, maybe the 3 1/2 drive will work.

 

I noticed that it has an OUT connector hole on the case without a connector. I am hoping it is as easy as adding a connector to have that work.

Just by looking at the photos, it looks like you can only use one drive at a time by using the witch labeled 5 1/4 and 3 1/2. I would think that you might be able to use the IB drivers to use the 5 1/4 drive in TOS. The 3 1/2 drive you might not need any drivers just plug and play and for the "OUT connector" you don't need one its just for using multiple disk drives in TOS if you want one I would check with best electronics.

I was thinking the same about the 3 1/2.

 

I could always put this unit as the last drive in the chain, but It would be cool to have the out port available.
