Durability of Floppies?

Depends on how well they were protected/stored and how well "used" they are, the more a disk is used, the more wear and tear on it and the shorter the life. Most of the disks I'm sending you are easily 10-15 years old, and they are working fine. The outside speculation of a floppies life, I think was supposed to be lik 15-20 years, IIRC, but I think that some will last much longer if stored properly and not over used. I know many Atari dealers still sell floppies, both "new" and "used" and I bet at least those "new" ones will last for years from the time you format them, even after an extended shelf life.

It seems the old adage "look before you leap" is appropriate here...
