Price Check: Expansion Module 3

Apologies ... I don't often enter the Colecovision forums and now I'm asking for help pricing something.

Hate being THAT guy but if anyone has advice on price, I'd appreciate.

I have a Colecovision Expansion Module 3 complete with the printer, computer unit, keyboard, plastic tray that holds the unit and a Colecovision together and the plastic tray for the controller (I think). Hooked it up to my Colecovision and was able to power it up and test the keyboard using the Adam Typewriter function. Unable to test the cartridge bay as I don't have a Colecovision cassette tape. Cartidge bay looks good (to my untrained eye). Definitely has yellowing but otherwise seems ok.

Any ideas what I should ask for this thing? Any way to test the cassette tape deck without a Colecovision tape?

The EM3 isn't as desired as the Stand Alone Adam with built-in ColecoVision unfortunately. If the system was completely tested and working, then you could reasonably ask for around $100, but since you can't test the Data Drive (that's a big one with these), you're looking at about $50. With the shipping costs of these, it's a hard sell even if the system is working 100%.

It's really worth testing with a cartridge and a data pack, if only to say "tested and working" in your listing. I think you may get less interest if you go untested. Where do you live? I could send you a Donkey Kong to try plus a data pack

Edit: sigh, it pays to remember what was said two posts earlier - it's Expansion Module 3 - sorry about that, carry on

I prefer the EM3, as that's what the kid in me wanted back in the day... There was always something (and still is) magical about that expansion slot ... But I guess wishing for new hardware for the colecovision 30 plus years later has about as much a chance as getting new X-Files episodes ... Or Do Dreams Come True...

Thanks again for all the info!

Just an FYI, I was able to sell it all for $100 + shipping on eBay with the cassette bay untested.

Congrats on finding a buyer and getting a very good price for it considering it wasn't completely tested. Just goes to show, you never know unless you try!
