But seriously, this game gets no respect. Because it doesn't deserve any! OK, real story. A year or so ago some friends came over with their 2 sons and the oldest wanted to try the Atari. After playing Pitfall, Mario Bros. and a couple other games, he decided to try Donkey Kong Junior. It was the last game he played and I wouldn't be at all surprised if he never touches an Atari 2600 again. (By the way, I do own a copy of this game, but like Karate in week 1, I really didn't want to get up and find it to play one game when I'm already sitting at a perfectly good computer that has Stella and a &$@#-ton of ROMs, including this one, on it.) If they changed the characters and released it as something other than DKJR, I don't think folks would object as much to this game. However, if you're going to call this DKJR, there are just too many things missing. No fruit? That's Junior's only way to fight back! That would be like releasing Donkey Kong and not putting a hammer in the game...or no Power Pills for Pac-Man. And no score for jumping over enemies? Geez... I'd love to see this game get the overhaul that DK got. I'll keep playing, though I'm looking forward to next week already. My moderator pick is later in the season ... thanx BAZ and I went with "suggestions"... so someone picked Mario Bros and BAZ had DK Jr. add to our list. karokoenig Posted February 1, 2016 Share Posted February 1, 2016 Ah well... once you get the hang of it (some very specific joystick moves involved which you have to find out at first), it's not as terrible as I thought it would be. Jake, Baz - don't worry too much about all the complaints. We have played worse games in the HSC over the years. Much worse... Does get really fast the third time around on stage 3, though...
