Rick Dangerous
I am trying to partition a new SD card for my ST using Pera's Driver, but I can't get my ST to recognize the card to do so. I've tried about 10 times and I feel like i'm loosing it. I'm on a Windows machine and Using Peter's program: http://atari.8bitchip.info/drimus.php I select my SD cart, then click "Write to Selected" then pick the 15mb image file.. It writes it. I plug into my ST Ultrasatan left side, with not other cards and...........NOTHING! PLEASE HELP!! Can anyone post a video, what the heck am I doing wrong. walter_J64bit
What Windows are you running? If recall right that app works only in XP.
Rick Dangerous
What Windows are you running? If recall right that app works only in XP. Windows 7 Do you know of a simple GUI based program I can use to write a disc image to an SD card that will work on windows 7? I have a migraine at this point and ready to take a break for the day.. But...not going to give up on this since being able to partition an SD card to be recognizable on both platforms was the whole point of dropping a few hundred on an Ultrasatan! (as great as the demo's are on Lothareks included IDE driver SD Card....)

Not off hand I don't, but maybe PP has an update for his app.
ParanoidLittleMan
No problem with my app - so far nobody complained. I tested it in Windows 7, 8 too. As said in e-mail, you most boot Atari after inserting the card in UltraSatan. + info - watch LEDs on US - it must activate for short (LED at first slot), then turn off - that indicates that US recognized card properly. galax
I have used it with no problems on Windows 7. I Another thing to rule out is that your SD card is OK and compatible with Ultrasatan- it might be picky. If you really can't get it working I or someone else could send you a formatted ST card at cost, if you have paid for the drivers but can't set them up. For whatever reason, the software or the Ultrasatan didn't like the standard 2GB SD card I was using. I pulled the 4gb HDSD card out of my Wii U, erased the contents, wrote the image, loaded the program files and........it worked!! I now have a C drive and a D drive on my desktop with the the programs in them! Will watch the formatting video a few times more and attempt that later. Quick question, If I format partitions on C, D, E and F, and then also use the ICD card in the second slot, will it re-assign those drive letters, or will it create problems due to overlap? Thanks again everyone, looking forward to completing the formatting and partitioning later tonight!
ParanoidLittleMan
Letters will be assigned in row - first all from first card, then all from second. So, what is C on ICD, when you boot from it (in first slot) will become G if it is in second. D will be H ... Max usable letter is P. Normally, when you play, or running some SW, no need to use both cards.
Rick Dangerous
So... I was able to format and partition the card, and run the other software after that was needed. I did five 511mb partitions, which when combined with Lothareks card in slot 2 fills all partitions C-P When I reset the computer though..It only showed C Hard disk again. Is there anyway for all the partitions to show at startup without having to install the drives each time? It's also booting in low resolution. Any way to fix that? ParanoidLittleMan
On driver description page http://atari.8bitchip.info/pphdr.php there is instruction for it: How to make all partitions visible on desktop in TOS 1.xx : For starting in med res you need to switch to it, and Save Desktop .
galax
If your STE is TOS 1.6 you'll have to switch to medium resolution manually each time though, or drop the STE_FIX.PRG into your auto folder - a little bug that Atari fixed in TOS 1.62: http://www.avtandil.narod.ru/tose.html Glad that the problems turned out to be just with the SD card, Lotharek is pretty clear that some SD cards may cause problems with Ultrasatan, and even sells known good cards, see "IMPORTANT NOTES": http://lotharek.pl/product.php?pid=94 Edited January 31, 2016 by galax
