Well, well, well...what have we here? :)

That looks awesome! :-o

BTW, if there's an RC2 or beyond and no plans to recycle these parts, I'd like to get dibs on possibly buying these test carts after the release is done to add to the collection. Will put them in the "Work in progress of Rebooteroids" historical section.... if that's a possibility, anyway. :cool:

Hopefully there won't be an RC2, and I suspect you'll have to pry these carts out of their owners cold, dead hands LOL.

:lol: I figured as much but thought I'd give it a shot.

Can I have permission to make carts out of the earlier releases from this thread? I believe there were 15.

If not, I won't (secretly or otherwise) Just thought it would be cool. :)

If you really have to - as long as they don't end up being sold, anywhere, at any time in the future. I don't see the point, though. They can't connect to the scoreboard, and most have very minor differences.

Plus, when you see the final... ;D

:-o

:-o Holy sh*t!

Let me rephrase that, I believe there were 15 made publicly available for us commoners to test. :-D

Disclaimer: In my opinion no one here (earth) is a "commoner" and the phrase wasn't intended to discriminate, humiliate, belittle or any other derogatory or negative manner of usage. Was merely illustrating racerx's ability to acquire cool shit while those of us who don't have to marvel at someone else's awesomeness.

Thank you

I won't sell them. And, to date, I've never sold anything Jaguar related. Offered to give a Skunkboard away once for a good cause but that fell through. Was going to give Clint Thomson a Catbox for his (I'm assuming) reverse engineering project a while back and I have no intentions of selling at any time in the future.

The point to me is that Rebooteroids has been a long time coming. To me, it's a heavily worthwhile project and long anticipated. A timeline of builds in my collection leading up to the final release. I'm not kissing ass but it's worth it to go through the effort and expense for something so awesome.

Tried to do this very thing for another release a long time ago and was met with roadblocks at every corner. That's fine and I'll respect the wishes of any author but looking back, all of that is lost for all time.

Worth it? To me, not hardly. Having relics or gems from something like this is priceless (to me). Honoring a time I enjoy in my life on a system that means so much to me is worth everything I can afford it.

So, thanks for the permission and you have my word that nothing gets sold. Ever. :cool:

@Saturn

Hey Saturn. I've known you a long time from a few Jag boards past and present, just as many here do too, and you're definitely a standup guy. Good luck with getting the Jag stuff you love. Rebooteroids is definitely worth the time and money as it looks absolutely fantastic and anything related to it would be a great addition to any Jag collection. It just looks like so much fun and it is polished and professional. I have always wished to get my hands on a bunch of World Tour Racing things, but most of the old cart version and early CD stuff is now gone, though just a few years ago I was able to find someone who has something I would definitely like to acquire at some point. But being in my 40's, a single dad of 3 kids and running a company, I have to be a bit responsible with my money, which really sucks!

@RacerX

Wow. Very nice.

Thanks JG, collecting all this has been a long road... and it never ends apparently. If I could tell off on the really good stuff I'd be legendary :cool:

I know what you mean about having to be responsible. I've passed on quite a lot (not just in the Jag world) and now also in my 40's it's getting less appealing to spend. This is a one time deal though and can actually get involved beyond the norm. A tribute to a great game and long awaited release date...which is still pending but hopefully very close. I'll get the standard 3 copies, if allowed and harass sh3-rg periodically for a Downfall+ but the buying frenzy days of 2003-2005 when this stuff was starting to spike are over. Thank God, too. It's insane nowadays and I'd hate to be starting out as a collector for the Jaguar today. Nearly impossible from what I can see.

I hope you're able to acquire the piece(s) for WTR. Be a shame to not have being the fan that you've been for so long. I'm just glad you came back to the scene. Lost too many OG's since the days of TAEX. Good luck with it all :)

Yeah, two completely different points of view. I'd imagine you're sick of coding it and I'm waiting in frantic anticipation to play genuine carts. No more VJ or on a Skunkboard.

I can see where you're coming from but when I'm a geezer in the retirement home, still guarding my Jag stuff, I'll be telling whippersnappers stories of when I was back on this thing they called "for-ums" and we used to have to type letters on a screen to communicate.

This'll be some outdated stuff by then but I'll keep those young punks in line with stories about how real men talked smack on a screen :P

Maybe that's a tad overboard but still, it'll be cool to have :)

Got my copy in as well today and man does this game kick ass!

Were there actually some people on the Jaguar forum who didn't receive a release candidate in the mail? Man I feel sorry for those suckers forced to wait for the retail release....

;) ;) ;)
