Rick Dangerous
HI! I have been playing my INTV a lot and really enjoying it. Mostly my INTV two lately because I got the excellent flashback controller adapters that were made for it. I actually think both systems put out a pretty solid RF picture, my main problem is interference. It takes 5 minutes each time I play to properly adjust the various cords so that the picture isn't getting interference. I'd like to alleviate this problem by AV modding my INTV one, and two INTV II's.. My question is, where can I get the kits? I checked Console 5 and they don't have them..anyone have any other ideas for places to look? Thanks.

+fdr4prez
If it is just cable interference, then you can get a male RCA to female coaxial cable. Maybe your local radio shack may have some. The coaxial cable will be shielded and your interference should go away. something similar to these: http://www.amazon.com/Aurum-Cables-Quality-Coaxial-Connector/dp/B016N1E6LI/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1459204945&sr=1-4&keywords=rca+male+to+coax+male

It uses the Intvwiki design. https://oshpark.com/shared_projects/Y9AoW16r best place to buy RCA jacks is console5.com Best place to buy resistors and caps for the pcb is Digikey or Mouser http://wiki.intellivision.us/index.php?title=Intellivision_Composite_Video_Modification
Rick Dangerous
Okay I snapped up the AV mod kit from ebay. According to the seller it also works on the INTV II, so i'm going to have one of those done first. I'd like to get a blue LED in there, anyone know if the stock is 3mm or 5mm, or what would be better to get? or does it really matter? http://console5.com/store/components/led.html Thanks! 7800fan
IIRC the stock LED is 5mm on the PCB with a long clear light pipe on top. So pretty much anything can go under it. A word of advice: old LED weren't bright compared to modern hi efficiency LEDs so you may need to replace the current limiting resistor or else your new blue LED would look like laser, blinding anyone who happened to look over the top of the console. PS why blue? Inty II has been grey and red themed, you would need to redo the red trim on keypad and around the seam* of the console if it's red to match the blue theme. *not all Inty 2 has red seam, most were not colored. I think it was only in early run that had red seam
First Spear
I bought one of those from him. Destroyed my unit. I didn't know what I was doing. If you have hardware skill it's probably not a problem. Also you can rough up the led with sandpaper to help dissipate the light coming from the led.
Rick Dangerous
Had a top notch local guy AV mod my INTV II. It came out looking glorious: No more RF interference! Lastly need to go purchase a Flashback to get the controllers to use with the adapters I bought some months back..lol

I bought the board for my Odyssey 2 from him when I had it modded. The picture is fantastic. Too bad I don't have the time or the space to pick up modding myself right now. I'd like to learn someday though.

+fdr4prez
Late last year I also purchased one from the guy in Turkey, but I've not installed it. Hmm, I wonder where it is hiding... Time to go treasure hunting.
Utopia
I looked up Ebay to see what mod boards suit a PAL system as quite a lot of them are for NTSC only and got a hit on 2. One is the Turkish board that appears quite popular here and the other is a very small one from the US. Strangely the latter links to the former's installation instructions and I wonder if it is actually the same design but just on a smaller board? Has anyone here used either of these boards on a PAL system and is happy with the results?
ScottyDont00
I did! Works on both I and II models, and all good so far!! Good to hear. I will be buying one sooner then later. He has good prices but I won't pay for faster shipping so it will take a while to get here.
SiLic0ne t0aD
I have the turkey board in my SVA but I tried out the PCB grips uploaded a while back on an Inty II, it came out way better than the first. Anyways, my real question is, has anybody used the PCB by Konus (fred) on eBay? Every one I've done has had more than what's pictured here, I'm not seeing any outputs.. the half assed instructions that came with it aren't much help.. Lol, Am I missing something here?

Lol, Am I missing something here? 20160705_172827.jpg Good luck with that! The guy has a fame of selling unfinished or semi-working things. He is pretty shameless, he sold a bootleg of Super Game Module in the Colecovision forums and before being banned he went in a personal war against several members here and currently pirates homebrews. His latest "accomplishment" was changing in eBay his seller name to tkat5200atariage when this Atariage user complained about the items. SiLic0ne t0aD
I know all about him.. ugh, I don't even want to get into that whole thing with him and the CV community. I bought this last year, when he was still in good standing around here. He's not now though so I'm not worried about it. I thought maybe somebody has a pic of it installed, that's all i need..probably overthinking it or not thinking it enough. lol. Anyways, I'll trace it all and will figure out when I have time.. I'm just lazy today.

Lol, Am I missing something here? 20160705_172827.jpg I've installed a few of Fred's mods. They only do video, so you'll have to run the audio through a coupling capacitor (100 micro Farad, electrolytic) separate from the mod. It looks like your photo has the white wire as video in, yellow as video out, black as 5V common and red as ground. A good place to mount it is on top of the four ICs to the right of the RF box when looking at the board with the RF box closest to you. His mods are brighter than Murat's (the Turkish guy's), but they tend to be unstable when the screen features bright colors. I replaced the 20-22 Ohm resistor with a 66 Ohm resistor (two 33's in series) to make it work more like Murat's. I was looking at it, wondering why there was only three instead of four 100uf caps. Video only.. lol. The audio is really important to me too, especially having dual mono..guess I'll be adding that in there. Haha, oh well, now i know, thanks again! Edit:here's a pic of one I did. That mod works just fine on Intv II's. Both Intv II's I've modded, though, had more "ghosting" effects than the other 24 Intellivisions I've done. SiLic0ne t0aD
Did anybody use Ferrite rings and coax cable for extra shielding with their mods? I didn't on the last one but I did first time around. Not sure if it made a difference or not, all Intys seem to be a little different.
