* working on which windows version (compiled and tested on w10, 64bit)?

* sound needs to be checked for proper stereo. It seems there are still buffer underrun issues. would like to have some statistics here

* eeproms

* working w, w/o lynxboot.img

* banks, audin banks (there are not many roms to test... :-/ )

* sprites issues reported previousely

* sound issues reported previously (not all are fixed)

* everon

 

Beware: save states are not compatible with old ones.

Please dont distribute too far, I will remove the beta in a few days, latest when the final one is out.

Nice! I will give it a run today on Win7 64 bit. And also Win XP 32 bit.

just to start the compatibility list:

• windows 10 64bit
• ubuntu 15.10 64bit with wine work good, even the debugger version (which didnt with the original release)

I just found out that my new laptop came with 64 bit Win 8 and not Win 7 as I thought. There is a BIG improvement in timing. When I was developing "Shaken, not stirred" it was impossible to get the chipper music to match the animation on Handy. The speed was at least 10% off. So I had to transfer the image to the Lynx for speed checks.

 

Now the sync is perfect. It has exactly the same speed as the graphics. Very nice indeed.

 

In Mednafen the graphics is at least 20% faster than the sound. Completely out of sync.

Your version is without a doubt faster.

 

For example using Toki, title screen display delay :

- old version = 4s

- your version = 0s

The lynxboot.img and the 2 versions of handy are in the same directory.

That doesnt matter, as it just isnt loaded.

 

Edit: To be more specific:

The lynxboot rom is not used for decrypting the header, but the decryption process runs on the emulators host system. GHz vs MHz is the reason for displaying/loading the title pic much faster.
