ballyalley
Now if only they would make a working stand-alone Bally Astrocade emulator for Macintosh and Windows. I don't mind using the Astrocade emulator that is built into MAME. It plays the cartridges well enough, but it is missing the finer features of a would-be stand-alone emulator. The two biggest features that MAME is missing for Astrocade support are tape handling and hot-swapping cartridges. MAME doesn't support "AstroBASIC's" 2000-baud format, Blue RAM BASIC's 2000-baud format, or Bally BASIC's 300-baud format. Plus, MAME doesn't allow the user to switch cartridges while the system is on to run BASICarts (homemade cartridges that contain "AstroBASIC" and the BASIC program). It would be great if someone stepped forward to add these missing features to the MAME emulation of the Astrocade. Adam
