doctor_x Posted May 6, 2016 Share Posted May 6, 2016 Last night I pulled a real bender with a ton of beers and feel like ASS today... A few weeks ago took a few too many pain pills and am also hurting from the come down from that..... Plus Im just getting old... Time to kick the beer can and pill bottle and immerse myself in Atari and the various sites, mods, and some possible coding later on down the line.. What that says - is that unless you folks get sick of me you're stuck with me... I won't be as goofy or crass sober but maybe my ramblings will be a bit more coherent... Regardless - thank you for having me once again.. I plan to be active on the local and non-local trading scene though Im more of a hardware or "warez" disc collections from back in the day than I am about catrdiges - but there will be a few... I just got my first set of gear tonight which I will post up in another post .. Just need to order some power supplies and I will begin this trek back through the 80's where I was happiest.... I'm probably not that different, I'm stuck with pain killers due to illness, I share my day with 5 different medications 4 times a day with tramadol being my main one, I tried to live meds free but the depression took over and the pain in my spine, arms and legs was so bad I had no choice but to return to them and trust me, I'm not a person with addictive personality. I also on the rare occasion like a glass or 3 of wine on the weekend which with the meds is a mega no no but it breaks the monotony but its wonderful to hear a man be able to clear the decks as it were and get back immersed in the old Atari, you ramble away, we will be listening... doctor_x Posted May 6, 2016 Author Share Posted May 6, 2016 My middle name is "addictive personality" however it seems that I can't ever get addicted to exercise or studying the bible... I am addicted the "lift" I feel after those first few drinks or that first vico after a long time of going without.. Problem is I cannot find anything that brings me that lift that isn't dangerous. I'm not a problem to others as I keep it at the house (or uber) but after so much time it makes me wince to imagine what I've done to liver/panc/kidneys.. Anyway.. I've been candid enough about all of that and I know this isnt AA/NA.... The fact that there are so many current mods that give the Atari 8 ridiculous power comparatively, gobs of software readily available and also easy to access with stuff like side2 or sio2sd - and based on MY own particular interests - GOBS of scavenging that will have to be done to collect those things that are interesting to me software wise - probably more rare than the rarest commercial/prototype games out there and likely mostly non-existent - Atari the second time around will mimic my favorite Atari games - Adventure games.... Maybe I can find the lift in Atari and eliminate all of the risk the other lift comes with.....
