Yeap. For years now. The asking price used to be even crazier. Truthfully speaking, unless a Proto has an EPROM board inside, it's worthless & meaningless to me. And in the case of this game; even if it does have it, I'm still not interested! (unless there happens to be some other unknown as of yet undiscovered Activision Proto that was being developed which utilized the DPC chip)

It "popped up on ebay" a few years ago and has been there since.

So it could have been final version that was made available for magazine revlews and is absolutely the same as retail version but with icky magneta label rather than nice earth brown label?

 

Has anyone asked the seller to provide video of the gameplay so one could see if there's any difference? And that the EPROM (if used) hasn't rotted?

I somehow doubt this game, on a devboard, would ever fit inside an off the shelve cartridge case.  So you would likely be paying $10000 for a label.
