rayik
I installed the Longhorn A/V mod. Very simple install after doing some hard ones like nesrgb and 2600 rgb. Hardest thing is removing a chip and installing a socket in it's place. None of the chip legs are attached to a ground plane so it is easy to remove with solderput and regular soldering iron. I do not like to cut the case if it can be helped. Was able to figure out how to install without making any holes in case. Used the rf switchbox space for video out and channel selector space for audio out. Took out the old RF switch box and removed the pcb inside. The rca jack was soldered to the box. Cleaned all corrosion off the outside (ground) and inside (signal) by using Brasso. Soldered the A/V outputs to the rca jack in the box: Removed the channel selector switch and used that space for rca audio out. Had a little piece of scrap plastic I cut to size so it would not interfere with cooling slots or video jack. Used washer on front and back to secure audio jack and plastic plate without need for glue Completed mod before putting on top rf shield and after doing that After I was done I noticed rca jacks colors were reversed from what they should be. Easily fixed by label: All in all, a rather easy mod. Results really depend on how your monitor / tv handles composite input. Looks very good on our Sony LCD. Looks just horrible through frameister xrgb mini. Wish there was a rgb mod but I can't find one.
+chicgamer
Glad to hear this mod went well for you! I received my mod today and will be doing this sometime this week. I'm hoping the video looks much better than the easy composite mod I have installed now.
