Sega CD model 2 disc motor replacement. Please Help!

I need help on a more technical level than what I've been able to find online so far. I have one model 2 that needs a new laser motor which I've found cheap replacements for on Jameco. The other unit I have looks to have a very beat up gear that sits on the laser motor itself. Where can I find that gear at. It's the small black one that mounts on the shaft of the motor. I have found other gears but not this one. This unit's other problem is that the disc drive motor is apparently dead as it won't spin at all and the laser does work. I can solder and am fairly competent at it but my main question is how do I remove the disc spindle from the motor in order to remove and desolder the motor from the board. If I really have to I feel confident in removing the controller IC for the disc motor but what are the chances that it's the motor vs the IC itself as I'd hate to replace both of them if I don't have to as it's just a lot of extra work and I'm trying to repair these to sell at a sale in only two weeks.
