+Larry
I had thought initially that I would be able to set the MS to be different drive numbers, but having installed and used it for a bit, looks like that is not true. Any issues in adding a drive select switch (other than drilling holes!) to the MS? And likewise adding a write-protect switch? -Larry
Bikerbob
So are you saying the MS over rides the DS switch in the 1050? And now ignores the notches? I have one to install and also figured I would use it as a second drive, so as not to wear out the mega drive. James
+Larry
No, not what I'm saying. I said that initially I thought that the drive select could be firmware chosen (overriding the switches), but I've since found in use that there seems no method to do that. So I ended up asking if anyone was aware of an issue in using add-on selector switches to accomplish both tasks. Being able to select a drive without fumbling around with the back of the drive is very useful to me. (I normally use my Happy as D2: and only occasionally boot from it as D1:.) And ditto the usefulness of the WP defeat. -Larry
JoSch
I have a three way write protection switch installed on my Megaspeedy drive. No problems to report here. In theory, on could change the firmware to accomplish that, but you would need somebody with experience with the firmware.
