the_crayon_king
Does anybody need this ? http://i.imgur.com/edTly1f.jpg So cut the traces where the red lines are and remove the two resistors circled. The blue circle is where the ends of the 620 ohm resistors go. I can make a full tutorial if needed but this is just an addition to the per-existing NES controller mod as everything not shown here is the same. Why not just use a Genesis controller ? Because that's too easy.
0078265317
There was already a guy doing that here many years ago. And I already use nes unmodified controllers on a 2600 with a series of adapters. Now if 2600 controllers can work on a 7800 then its all good. But I don't have a 7800 yet.
walter_J64bit
You should make a full tutorial!
the_crayon_king
YOU NEED THUS CABLE: https://www.amazon.com/Extension-Atari-2600-7800-Joystick-Controller/dp/B008H5V11C/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=ll1&tag=atariage&linkId=a598e5c6d6e043b136f8401127381e6b
Andromeda Stardust
Dogbones use surface mount chip unlike the rectangular NES which uses through hole. There's also a lot less space inside the controller. So the mod would be much more difficult to perform on a Dog Bone. Also Dog Bones are fairly uncommon and getting pricier, so I would rather see someone convert the old rectangle.

I only harvest controllers that otherwise do not work. I have like 5 dogbones are they that rare ? Also it has a few SMD resistors but the chip on both is through hole.
