InsertCoin25
Hello I am new to posting to AA, but I have been lurking on the forums for a while. I was wondering if Atari Age is going to be releasing a cartridge version of The Stacks? I did notice in a PRGE youtube video that there was a sign and cartridge already made for playtesting at the expo. Is this still a thing, or has the cartridge release been squashed? Thomas Jentzsch
Its all my fault. I lost motivation for a while, got distracted by other projects etc. But I will go back and finish it. There are only some (important!) final touches missing.

That is awesome that you are going to finish it. I hate to ask, any time frame for release? Oh before I forget. What is being changed from the original version? Thank you for the info, much appreciated. Take Care InsertCoin25 Edited August 9, 2016 by InsertCoin25
Thomas Jentzsch
There are quite a lot of changes, e.g. four game variations of increasing difficulty (one of them being the original contest game), randomly generated stacks at various sizes, ladder positions and trailers are randomized too, more enemies and collectibles, a lot of polishing (graphics, scoring, controls...)...

There are only some (important!) final touches missing. To be fair, it's not all your fault - I lost motivation long before you did. Only recently have I felt like working on VCS projects again.
Thomas Jentzsch
I lost motivation long before you did. Maybe that was me too?
+SpiceWare
Maybe that was me too? No, I'd have worked on one of my other projects if I'd only lost interest in The Stacks.
+Kaboomer
I just received the Centipede 7800 TB cart and Atari Age included a flyer which advertised "The Stacks" as one of their "Our Newest Homebrews"! No pressure
phimseto
Amusingly, my question to you is this: I have Ready Player Two, and all I can keep thinking about is if there will be a video game for *that*! ?
Omegamatrix
The Stacks brings back memories. From what I can see there was not too much left before the game was ready player one, but it stalled...
