Sears heavy sizer cib questions

So I bought a sears heavy sixer in the box on ebay about eight months ago and I have some questions about the contents of the box. The controllers that came with the box appear to be cx-40's so I was wondering if any of the sears heavy sixer's came with cx-40's originally or if the controllers I got were replacements. I also didn't get target fun with the box so I was wondering if that came cart only or cib. I am missing the original power adapter and TV switch box so I doubt I would ever actually complete it, (the box is in fairly poor condition anyway) but I am still curious about it. What do you guys think about the sears heavy sixer? I personally love the silver control panel and simulated walnut wood grain. I honestly like the aesthetic better then the regular atari vcs. For $90+s&h in box I think it was well worth it.

I am pretty sure this came with CX-10s and "Sears" on the hex disc and on the paddles instead of Atari. It also came with the gray power supply and Target Fun was definitely in the box.

yeah I figured as much considering that cx-40's are shown on the box art. I have seen the Grey power supply before but the only one currently on ebay is like $40+s&h and that seems like a crazy price for a power supply. Also just noticed that the title says sizer instead sixer but that is what I get for typing this out on a phone. Edited by AtengaGames

My Sears heavy sixer has the CX-10's, as well as the grey power supply. Those power supplies are pretty failure-prone, though; mine's dead and I've probably heard of more dead ones than working ones at this point.

I love my Sears heavy sixer... I also think I like the look better than the standard Atari look. The standard one looks very mainstream; the Sears version looks "upscale" in a very 70's way. It's like the Cadillac Sedan DeVille of game consoles, to the standard VCS's Chevy Caprice.

Congrats on your Sears Heavy Sixer and welcome to the club. I picked up a Sears Heavy Sixer from a member here at AA. Mine happened to come with CX-10s, Sears Heavy Sixer paddles, driving controllers and the grey power supply. Don't forget to add your S/N to the list: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/186498-the-official-atari-2600-heavy-6-switch-list/page-8?hl=%2Bsears+%2Bheavy+%2Bsixer&do=findComment&comment=3534748

I just use a generic AC and it works fine. Both came with headphone jack style plug. Works on my sears lite 6 tele games and JR.

I honestly couldn't care less about having the original power adapter and TV game switch as I already have working power adapter and metal coax adapter. Those TV game switches just look like unnecessary fire hazards these days.

I wonder if best electronics has some the Grey adapters poking around but I highly doubt it. I need to order some TIA chips anyway so maybe when get around to ordering those I'll ask them. I honestly don't get why the original atari heavy 6er is worth more than the sears (at least that's trend that I have noticed). Maybe the sears heavy 6er is more common than the original? I honestly don't get the price difference but I'm personally glad I didn't have to pay more than $100 for the system itself.

Because of the name, that's all. Honestly, if I had only one VCS I'd probably want an Atari-branded one too, but I've got more than that, so I'm happy to have it. My Sears VA was actually the first VCS I bought, but I ended up buying an Atari light sixer later just to have an Atari-branded system too.

I paid $13 for my CIB Sears heavy sixer, so I can't complain! (This was in the very early days of Ebay, before retro gaming was even really a thing.) I paid more for my Atari light sixer.

Here is what it should have

My primary system is also a sears heavy. I had both a sears and atari heavy and I decided to keep the sears because I liked the way it looked.

Are you the nut who's had that thing for sale at that crazy price for so long? I wondered who that was. I don't recall earlier versions of that auction having sears hex discs are those legit or repros?

The Hex discs are real. Don't appreciate being called a name but if that's your thing then by all means, do your thing. The auction has been the same since it's inception, discs and all.

Well, I didn't call you a name, i called you crazy (subtle difference but didn't seem as bad in my head), but regardless I apologize nontheless. It's close enough to name calling to warrant an apology and I'm sorry. I do have to admit that because of my searches I frequently have that auction in my results and I've always been bothered by the fact that someone was trying to gouge a buyer with that price. Sorry if that bothers you.

No, not a huge deal at all. That set is obviously for a collector, not someone who just wants to have a telegames heavy sixer. I have a boxed Sears heavy with hex discs and it is one of my favorite pieces. Buyers are generally adults, and adults will spend what they are comfortable spending. Shouldn't bother anyone, but i understand that some might be bothered by that and respect that. I have had offers of $750 for it and someone did indeed buy it for the listed price about a month ago, then returned it because of an issue with one of the controllers. No issue though, i think perhaps he had some remorse over the price perhaps. Nonetheless, due to eBay policies i was out over $100 in shipping charges. Perhaps that makes you feel better? (Kidding)

I know you were kidding, but it really doesn't make me feel good for you to be out $100 even if I disagree with your pricing. I am genuinely shocked to hear that you've had offers that high though. My problem with outrageous asking prices is the way it artificially raises the prices on things because people can't seem to differentiate asking prices and selling prices.
