There was no score for the first quarter, then the Beamriders went up 13-0. The Smash answered back with 20 points and hold on to win. The Bombers took a 10-3 lead halfway through the second quarter, then the Deadly Dogs defense got some big turnovers and scored three field goals in a row. After a slow start, the Destroyers took a 13-0 lead at the end of the first half. The Smash jumped out to a 16-0 early in the 2nd quarter, then the Mutants defense shut down the Smash while their offense scored 23 points. It was a tough defensive game, the Bombers holding the Spartans to only field goals, while the Spartans shoot down the Bombers offense. That's only the 4th shutout in league history. The Sharks missed two field goals and were shut out in the second half. The Sharks still can't get out from the dark cloud that was INTV Bowl II. Here are some highlights: The biggest news of the season came this week as the last place Spartans shutout the league champion Bombers 15-0. This is only the 4th shutout in league history. The Spartans still need a lot of work though, they are scoring less than 20 points per game and their first two games were not good defensively. The expansion team Ghosts are leading the Action Network with a 3-0 record in their first season. Their defense has been scary good, and their speedy offense are racking up the points. After a dismal second half of 2015, the Armada have regrouped and are off to a great start topping the Battle Network with a 3-0 record. Their offense have been consistent and explosive, scoring at least 25 points per game, while allowing exactly 19 points in each of their three games. The Beamriders are also off to a good start with a high scoring first two games. They are trying to keep their offense more consistent and avoid another losing season. In last place and winless are the Action Network champion Sharks, who after a shocking defeat by the Bombers in INTV Bowl II are still trying to get their confidence back. They had a better game against the Ghosts today, but they still need a lot of work. Their coaches need to help them forget about the past and keep them focused on saving their season. It's still early and anything can happen in this league. Teams can either have a good or bad season based on the second half. We're just getting started! The Beamriders dominated the first half with 23 points, but the Ghosts took over and scored 24 points in the 3rd quarter while slowing down the Beamriders offense.
