STf with double vision

Hi,

I have 1040STf that displays double images. please see the pics.

The STf works normally. Loads disks, mouse and keyboard work. It is just this doubling of images. It is not the monitors as they work perfectly with other ST's I have.

I have posted on Atari-Forum but my help may have gone on vacation or some other fun non Atari activity.

So I thought I'd post here to see if there is anyone here with some helpful suggestions.

Thanks

No promises this will fix it, but if you have another ST handy, you might try swapping the video shifter chip from the working one to the double-vision computer. The shifters are inside of the shielded box on the logic board, and they are usually socketed.

Great Idea. Just tried it, but no change, same issue.

Could there be something wrong with the jack on the MB itself. something phyiscal? The jack looks ok from the outside, from eh back, and in the case.

Is there some cross connect bewteen jack connections that would cause this?
