+adamantyr
I was browsing Amazon and thought I'd just search for TI-99/4a to see what came up... and I found this: https://www.amazon.com/Learning-Computer-Assembly-Language-Programming/dp/0135278627/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&qid=1471981838&sr=8-19&keywords=TI-99/4a&linkCode=ll1&tag=atariage&linkId=f07753616213ed3dbf734f0da9314d61 Er, okay then. Good luck with that.

Good luck with that. Ya, but the shipping is only $3.00, so there's that. This guy also posts on ebay all the time (never reasonable, but usually a helluva lot less than this one), but never includes an actual photo. Not I don;t know about others, but I can't see spending $2000 on a used book without seeing the actual book (to ensure that it comes with a platinum cover, and gold-leaf pages). Good luck with that. and I know I have one or two of these laying left in my TI storage somewhere. I picked up about a dozen of these exact books a few years ago when i snagged a truck load of TI stuff from AZ. i re-homed most of them for about $3.00 per book just for shipping! This guy is nuts! +adamantyr
Thanks for the link Ksarul! As far as assembly primers go, I didn't find this one all that useful anyway... although to be fair, by the time I discovered it, I was looking for more specific materials, and this is more like a text book for assembly language programming in general flavored to the TMS9900. What we could really use is "Programming games in assembly on the TI-99/4a"... with specific examples of various utilities and code that is readily needed: "Generate random numbers", "Multi-layer sprites with software rotation", "Saving and loading from files", and so forth. Maybe I should write it.
