Hello all,

Four years ago, I got a beat-up cabinet. It worked, but the monitor took a minute (or so it felt) to warm up. I played with it for awhile, then put it in storage for a few years.

Earlier today, my friend took it out of storage and left it outside the house. A few hours later, I got home, dragged it into the garage, and fired it up. Everything seems to work, except for the monitor. It takes about 25 seconds to warm up, then you get a line. Any thoughts?

Could be failing heaters in the tube (or bad solder there), the tube could use rejuvenation, or it could be something as simple as the chassis needing a new flyback or to be recapped.

Those are listed in more or less the most likely order. ;)

Worst case scenario the monitor can be replaced. The KLOV forum is to arcade games what AA is to classic consoles. I would soend some time over there and I'm sure someone can help you out be it advice to repair it yourself, help finding someone to repair it for you, or a source for a replacement. They have a subforum just for monitors.

Also a tip: They are very big on retaining CRT monitors as opposed to taking the easy way out and putting in an LCD. I tend to agree for the most part.
