Best way to get rid of SC1224s

Clearing out a lot of my stuff and I have 3 or 4 SC1224s I want to get rid of...really don't want anything for them and don't really want to ship them.

 

Anyone have luck giving them to Goodwill? Will they accept them?

If one of them was the JVC model and in good shape, it would be worth

the shipping.

Best way to get rid of these is to ask anyone here that lives nearby, if they'd like them.

 

Failing that, can always place a free ad in Craigslist, offering to give them away.

 

BTW: not all Goodwill's take crt's anymore.

I'm in West Virginia so not too many Atarians here that I know of.

 

I'll check if any are JVC...but don't think so.

 

Gotta clear my storage unit out....C64s and 1541s are going to Salvation Army.

 

Don't have the motivation to sell, pack and ship them. I might sell the Amiga, not sure.

 

 

P.S. I use LCDs now and am keeping 2 SC1224s and 1 SC1435..Just can't keep all those SC1224s...too many.

Please advertise in Craigslist and also the AtariAge MarketPlace here. I'm sure you'll find people eager to pick them up. Hell, several people in nearby East Coast States would probably drive to West Virginia just for them.

Please do not take it to Goodwill or throw them away! Goodwill will throw them away. Post on the classifieds on here, Craigslist or post on ebay for $1 and someone will buy it and pay the high shipping rate.

Well they're out of the storage unit and back in my basement lol.

 

Ever since I went to LCDs I just have no need for them. (Even though the picture is better I admit)

 

I have 6 SC1224s (2 original boxes) and 1 SC1435.

 

I'm not taking them to goodwill. Not sure what to do but they're safe and sound downstairs.

 

P.S. Darklord I am in Southern WV, but I hear ya. Maybe we can work something out to meet if you want them. I have relatives in Hurricane, WV. I have a sister in Lexington.

Last time I tried to drop off a perfectly good TV (tube style) at Goodwill, they refused to take it. Seems like a stupid policy change since someone could have gotten quite a lot use out of it.

While we're on the subject of monitors, if anyone is in Texas, mainly around the DFW area, I have two SM-124 hi-res, monochrome monitors that I am looking to give to a ST enthusiest. I know that one of them is in its original box, so I might ask for about 20 bucks for it. The other one might not have it, so all it will cost is just your gas money :-) PM me if anyone's interested.
