Lynx Spares and Repairs Thread

Hello all,

I've recently come back to the lynx. After being burnt in a ropy eBay transaction, leaving me with a mess of a Lynx II, I started looking for someone who does spares, repairs and mods in the UK for the Lynx. It was proving a be tricky. So, I thought, would it be okay if we have a thread where people can list what services they can provide, the countries they are located, and maybe prices. It would make things easier and more controllable, as it could serve as a one stop shop. If this is okay (mods - if this is breaking any rules - please let me know), please add what you can do for fellow Lynx owners here. I know we already have threads for hardware (like Mcwill's awesome screen, and SainT's saintly sd cartridge).

Plus this would help me, as I need help with a Lynx that looks like it was dipped in ash, and has a weird issue where you cannot turn it on, but it turns on when you insert a cartridge.

So I was thinking, if advise what you can do (the below template is an example):-

Thanks BadPricey.

What meant is the unit automatically turns on as you plug in the cartridge. You can power if off. But you cannot power it on again by pressing the power button. You have to remove/reinsert the cart again and it powers up again (without me pressing the power button). Weird!!

Does the unit actually work, or just turn on?

It sounds like on yours that there's something wrong in the soft power circuit. Most likely either a bad transistor or the 4069 chip has some bad gates.

I like the idea of a repair services thread. I just toss what I do in my signature (and website), but having a list of people that can do things would be good.

Basically, to turn the Lynx on, you have to insert a cartridge, which makes it automatically power on (without having to press the power button). The Lynx functions perfectly after that. You can even power off the Lynx. But, you cannot power it back on using the power button (cartridge is still inserted).

Would love to get this fixed, plus a Mcwill screen and replacement lens (the one on this Lynx is scratched to hell). Just don't who in the UK does such a service.
