Prizes for the medal winners! See attached photo.

Both games are sealed and in pretty good condition, the box of the joystick is a little beat up and has some stains. I can send that with the stick or not, whatever the winner likes.

The terms will be simple: Gold medalist can choose first, Silver medalist chooses from what's left, and bronze medalist gets the remaining item. I will take care of shipping. I will be of course playing out of contest, so in the unlikely case of me winning the medal, the runner-up gets the prize.

shouldn't the seeding look like this

1/8 winner plays the 4/5 winner
2/7 winner plays the 3/6 winner

To be honest, I was kinda thinking the same... I'll leave it to BAZ in which way he's shuffled the seeding.

Gold games announced...

Game Tags were placed into a plastic bag, and spun in a circle... then pulled out like the lottery numbers.

makes sense.  that's probably more standard but oh well -- it has begun!

DK JR.

1) 88,300

2) 90,300

3) 207,300

I got 88400 in the DK JR week and Jacob got more than 200k icon_surprised.gif

I need to read and practice Vooodoo's tip.

I'm putting for future reference. icon_smile.gif

About that "toe up" thing.  What I do, is: After I get my head level with the barrier above, I let the trap pass.  Then quickly I hold up until I hear three "clicks" or whatever you want to call the vine climbing sound effect.  Same thing when getting up the next one.  Three click sounds and my toe would seem to always be correctly oriented. To me, that seemed to be the key with getting past the Mario Hideout board from about 87K range and up.  The earlier levels the "three click climbing sound effect thing" didn't seem to work, but from 87K and onward it was the KEY for me on that board.

And SBAZ, on that level you have to run across near top (after you do the 3 click thing twice to get there)... quickly get off the vine then run right and jump (still holding RIGHT) about an inch left of center...keep holding right till you are an inch left of last vine climb.  Pause for a split second then jump on the vine WHILE the snapjaw is on it but near the lower half.  If you don't pause, you jump on the last vine and hit the snapjaw. When you get to top you MUST quickly tap left twice to get off and press FIRE button IMMEDIATELY to jump snapjaw at top (tap left, tap left, fire).  Then you just run to end.

Question for our strict, but humble leader,

Can we participate in rounds that we're aren't in so we can see how we compare to the better players?

It's gonna take a personal best just to be competitive.

Then again, it's only Monday.  And I love a challenge.  ;)

:-D  I decided to go with Weird Al's advice:

"Now's the time to go for all the gusto you can grab

There'll be lots of time to be low-key when you're laid out on the slab!"

I think that score was a personal best for me, at least on game 3. I'm just glad it wasn't Stampede  :)

Demolition Herby is one of my favorites of the games we played this year, so win or lose it's gonna be a fun week!

Well, I should have been in bed, but I kept trying 'just one more'.  And it's a Wednesday improvement.  It's still not enough, but Thursday's coming.  :)
