I found one that ran off of normal batteries and had a flash card slot. It would have been my perfect genesis portable but the build quality was horrible. Maybe I'll track this one down.

That looks like fun. It seems hard to find because of the generic name. It's out of stock but it looks like they're only asking for $24 or so. If your brain is broken in such a way that you still think 16-bit Genesis is pretty neat (like I do), that's a compelling value. My primitive brain still thinks Genesis games can still cost $60 each.

I still can't figure out how the cart port works. I mean, I don't see an adapter.. and, it doesn't look like you can fit a genesis cart in there..

I saw elsewhere that it's a proprietary cartridge port. You can buy multi-game packs with extra software. An SD slot would be nicer, I think.

It doesn't take normal Mega Drive carts. These days all the pirate console makers use their own proprietary cartridges. They can be bought in Asia and Russia with loads of games per cartridge
