I have been working on some 3d routines for Xybots (still WIP) and it has evolved into its own first person shooter.

****UPDATED***** Game name changed to -NeXion 3d-

N3D.png

This was a decision to avoid any legal issues when we get this into cartridge format

You are trapped on the planet Nexion with only a mapping unit and a Blaster pistol

Find the key - then find the exit!

CropperCapture2.png

Nexion enforcer droids will hunt you down - If you hear noises, they are near!

Use your Blaster to dispatch them - but beware, then Mazeon generators will create more.

  Gameplay instructions:

CropperCapture6.png

Use up and down to move forward/backwards

Left and right to rotate view.

Fire button & Left and Right to strafe

Fire button and down to fire blaster

Use the fire button to pick up the key & to unlock the exit

(3 Level demo in next post)

 Enjoy this short demo :)

Just shared with the Atari 2600 Homebrew Group on FaceBook.

Very cool so far. It took me a minute to get used to it but no problem after that. Now I have to go beat all 3 levels...

Holy crap, this is insanely amazing, will you finish it? It's so freaking awesome I'd buy a physical copy to add to my colection and to play it on the real vcs, good work man, I think you could make it a horror fps, similar to Doom, maybe it was just me but I got scared multiple times while playing it haha, the atmosphere is tense, it's just amazing.

BTW what does the arrow on the top indicate? The direction you're facing? If so it points in the opposite direction from where you're aiming.

Finishing it up and would love to put it on cartridge.

 Thanks for complimenting the atmosphere!

I worked a good while on the enemy AI. Those noisy robots really do search to destroy.

As a side I've been using Open Broadcaster Software to record my Atari 2600 stuff.  it's free and just takes a little bit of dinking around to figure out:

I can definitely tell that you worked a lot in the AI, it is astonishing, I rather use the term seek and destroy jaja, I can't see anything bad with the game, it is challenging to navigate, and sometimes a bit difficult to maneuver when you want to turn around and the control gets stucked a bit, but in all honesty, that doesn't screw up the experience, it is amazing, I can't stop complementing sorry jaja, the only thing I haven't figured out is where are the doors, and what does the arrow on top the symbolize, but overrall it's pretty amazing, great work man

Would a 25-30% increase in size affect the speed by alot? I think if it could be done without sacrificing the speed it would benefit the gameplay.

Still amazed that you did this. Cannot wait to own this on cart.
