Christos
I think you can do the same with CosmosEX?
MrMaddog
Was gonna say why not use a Centronics to USB cable but this thing will convert Epson compatible codes to something modern printers can use. The usage of network printers are a nice bonus...
leech
I think you can do the same with CosmosEX? I was thinking about how I could wire something like this up with a Raspberry Pi and a cups server. But yeah the CosmosEX is supposed to (eventually) emulate the Atari laser printer protocol. At least it's on the 'todo' list somewhere, so that would be epic.
leech
Ha, I tried to send them a message via the 'contact us' but received a 404 error.
RWAP
Sorry - I have only just spotted this thread - we are behind the Retro-Printer project. We fixed the 404 error on the "contact us" form once someone had pointed it out (sorry about that). We have just ordered a short run of the latest PCB design (in case there are some errors which we have not spotted) and should then be in a position to release this onto the market. The software side is working for ESC/P conversion, and we are currently working on the ESC/P2 conversion. If anyone is interested in the ESC/P2 printer conversion routines used for generating a PDF prior to printing, we have released the sources for these under the GPL license : https://github.com/rwap/printertopdf
