I love this game. Getting way more play than I thought. I have not touched Tempest 2K since I got this. Quick question: I need to build a rotary arcade stick for this game. WHat is the best rotary to order and from who? I did some research and I could not come up with a set rotary to buy. Seems like a rotary and just 3 fire buttons would be all that I need. Anyone???

btw, my son just grabbed the highscore in coop. Not bad for a 12 yr old!!!!  I would love to see what he can do with a nice rotary!!!(/proud papa braggin')

No, not yet  :(  It arrived late and I needed to feed my baby daughter her last bottle before sleeping so I didn't even unpack the package yet. Hopefully I can try it this evening after work but babies take most of your free time :P

But maybe she turns out to be an Atari player as well and we can play Rebootroids in co-op mode together :D

Only five months old and already playing her first Christmas present...

And even completing a wave, what an emotional moment...

Had a weird fluke when I played this weekend.  Started the game, and I couldn't shoot!  Thought a controller button went wonky, so I changed the button layout, and nope, the previous button that was thrust that worked wouldn't shoot either.

Reseated the game and started again and it worked fine.

Anyone run into this?  Just seemed really odd!

I'm betting you slipped on the menu, and started a 2 player game, where pad 2 shoots!

Had someone else make that mistake :)

(That someone was me... freaked me out!)

Could be the case, but I'm pretty sure I ended the game and changed button mappings before starting again, not sure if I would have done it twice in a row.  But it's all well and good now!

It remembers the last menu position, so it would have gone straight back to 2 player :)

Able to sit down 2nd time with the game.  Played twice.  Second score is below.  Levels are tweaked just enough so that they are not the same as the last RC.

To me bonus levels are too boring.  Can take as long as you want in them.  Slow methodical shooting completes level just about every time.  Would have recommended a countdown timer to force the player to go faster.  As you advance further in the game, the timer would be lower forcing the player to make more difficult shoots to complete it.

Not downing on the game.  It is a lot of fun.  Lots of really neat details: return from pause countdown timer; ship able to move off screen to other side on bonus levels; beautiful smooth graphics; great control of the ship.

One other thing. Anyone discover any cheat codes?  I got a couple of cheat codes by what I thought was a reliable source.  Maybe the source did not know the game that well as they don't work.

Nice score, took me two weeks to hit 66% of that :P and you get it on the 2nd try :lolblue:

I haven't found any codes yet but looking between games of Doom. Hopefully someone discovers and posts invincibility soon

However, I did play the betas and RCs for many hours.  Final version levels are tweaked enough so you have to relearn some of them.

I would be interesting in hearing about your source of cheat codes.

Is anyone playing this game?  Or are they all collectables sitting on shelf somewhere?

So much interest before it came out.  Flurry after release. Then nothing.

Play the game !

I play all the time. Can't get near some of the top scores on the leader board so I stopped flooding it :P

Yeah, if any game is not sitting on my shelf it's this one.... except for the other copies.

I figured I'd post when I had something relevant-like those very well hidden cheats

Lol

I was thinking of changing the online scores to "All Time top 10" and then have monthly top 50. Would that be something people would like?

I play this game every day. I currently have a problem. I can not get a second rotary to work. I have ordered another rotary and it started having problems. Anyone have problems with the rotary spinning by itself???

I haven't seen that at all.  However, I only have a single rotary.  It was tested with multiple rotaries, however, and this issue was not reported.

I think it is my second rotary. I have had a few and they all have problems. They all seem to have problems with both Tempest and Rebootroids.

SOMEONE build me a dedicate rotary!!!

I will pay handsomely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try playing Skirmish instead of Arcade.  Heck, even I managed to place on that board...   :ponder:

I'm waiting for encoders to arrive, if it turns out well, I might make one or two extra. I need the hardware to do the Rebooteroids justice... (+ I suck at Tempest and am finally man enough to admit that it was not the controllers fault if it turns out to be the case)
