Wanted: Arcadia Games (Complete)

Tombstone

Recommended Posts

Are you planning on a full set? Hope you don't mind waiting YEARS just to even see boxed copies of the rarer games. Honestly, it isn't worth it. You'd be much better off with a multicart- trust me here, I'm one of VERY VERY FEW collectors to have accomplished this feat.

Where can i get a multicart?

Where can i get a multicart?

I have this, and it's really the only way to play Arcadia games! Arcadia 2001 is one of the absolute toughest systems to get a full set for. It's not a question of money, but of availability- the rarest games go YEARS in between appearances.

Thanks a million. I just sent him a pm and will keep my fingers crossed that he has some more available.

I have 7 CIB left Jungler, Space Raiders, Tanks a lot, Escape, Baseball, Space Attack, Cattrax. Have pictures of what I have in marketplace section and in my photo gallery. Traded Brain Quiz to another member. Space Raiders is only one with mentionable box damage, others have minor wear, carts and contacts are like mint.

Hey tombstone,

Are you looking for any of the titles not released in the usa?

I am a huge arcadia collector and have sold off the bulk of my spares, but still have some interesting stuff left.

I just don't have any of the standard emerson releases left anymore spare.

Those got turned into multi carts ;)

Thank you Stupus, I very much appreciate the response. At this point I am looking exclusively for the Arcadia stuff released in the US. My understanding is that this will probably take awhile, especially since I am looking for complete games. If you know this system then maybe you can answer this question. Did ALL of the US releases have overlays?

Thanks again-

No problem sean,

Figured I would offer, some of the games released outside the usa tend to be some of the better games and can be hard to locate. Many also work on the usa emerson system.

I do have some of the titles released in the usa spare, but they are by various companies and not emerson.

I understand if you just want to get the emerson branded releases.

However it is my belief that the emerson version is only a clone like most of the systems are. I believe UA was the creator of the hardware as well as all the games besides the 4 bandai made.

I believe their version was the home arcade and that they quickly started selling distribution rights to just about anyone that wanted them when they realized they could not successfully market the system themselves.

There are 22 games in the usa emerson set.

3 came with no overlays- space attack, alien invaders and breakaway.

2 more games only included a left overlay - space mission and missile war.

All other games included 2 overlays, a manual and warranty sheet. Except brain quiz which included 4 overlays.

All the games except for grand Slam tennis, Spiders and red clash can be found without too much effort and some patience.

However those 3 are extremely difficult to ever find. Tennis basically never comes up for sale especially boxed. And the other 2 are at best on ebay once every couple years cib.

I would recommend buying a clone version of these 3 titles as placeholders as it could be you may never find them in the emerson version cib.

Good luck collecting! And happy to answer anything I can ;)

Great info! Thanks a ton. I've got Space Attack and my OCD was giving me fits over the fact that I did not have the overlays. You saved me some medication time for sure there. Just found Star Chess which brings me to 13 of the games complete. Looks like I have a lead on Capture but it only has one overlay so maybe I will wait until I can find one complete.

Happy to share the info!

You have a great start. Star Chess is one of the least common after the big 3.

Also ocean battle, Brain quiz, missile war and space vultures.

The rest come fairly frequent for sale.

Some day I need to get around to sharing my Arcadia collection here with pics :)

It's gotten crazy.

I have over 30 different variant systems, most boxed and hundreds of boxed games :) hehe

Yeah, I may have the largest arcadia collection out there, 2 guys in Germany also have quite a bit and 1 other here in the states.

I guess the mystery behind who made it and the fact that it has over 40 known variants and 5 variants to the cart pinout are what attracted me to it. Also that multiple versions of the box art exist that are very different from each other. It certainly wasn't the quality of the games that attracted me haha, but there are some fun titles on it.

The Leisurevision was the Canadian release of the arcadia. I believe Hanimex made it for canada. They released it under the Hanimex name in Europe and australia.

The Leisurevision games are probably the most similar in looks to the usa emerson. The leonardo, Hanimex and home arcade games are also very similar. Same carts and boxes, just different publisher name on them.

Did you get a rca s2 multicart?

Have not heard of the RCA multi-cart. I checked with the maker of the Arcadia multi-cart and he is not doing any more at the moment, but he said he would let me know if he did.

In looking at Leisure Vision on eBay I came to the same conclusion, that they were for the Canadian market. Given the manuals made in both English and French it was fairly evident that was the market.

Yes, the games seem a little primitive and if they were going up against the Colecovision then I can see why they died a quick death. So far the only ones that seem worth playing are Cat Trax, 3D Bowling, Tanks a Lot, and Jungler. have not tried Star Chess yet, I just got it today. I tried Space Vultures and it is a complete mess.
