RetroBrain
I get no sound output on my STE, not thru Monitor output or on the RCA L+R outputs. (even tried RF) I have tried to reseat the YM2149 chip and i have checked that it does indeed get the 5v its supposed to on pin 40. No chips is getting remarkably hot after some time running (except 68000 CPU and memory), and i see no caps looking suspicios. Im out of ideas, what do i check next? what can i do? Im new here but really hope to get some help =/ Edited December 4, 2016 by RetroBrain
cjameslv
Sending a bump your way and hoping you can get some responses! Have you tried swapping the yamaha chip from a know working unit?
exxosuk
I would start by checking the power rails on the LF op-amps and the DAC, LMC. If you look at the STE diagram then you should see places where +5v, -5v and 8.2v should be.
