65816 - interesting old article i found today

Recommended Posts

Its sunday and things are sometimes a bit boring here. So i started browsing the old archives on the internet and found an interesting article about 65816 programming in Atari Classics v4n2 Mar Apr 1995.

In the 90s, i had a 130XE with a 65816 cpu inside that would be used to develop games. but i never had a good manual that explained all the special 65816 codes.so I never got deep into the 65816.

Now that i've read this article, my interest in the 65816 has sparked again.

Here is the article that was written by James Hague in 1995:

it starts on page 26.

I might start looking for a 65816 upgrade for my 130XE now.

Greetings from Richard Vermeulen

Here is a page James Hague just updated a few weeks ago. Maybe hit him up for some advice. It looks like he is still active.

James Hague: "I'm James Hague, a recovering programmer who has been designing video games since the 1980s. Programming Without Being Obsessed With Programming and Organizational Skills Beat Algorithmic Wizardry are good starting points. For the older stuff, try the 2012 Retrospective."
