Airshack
Is there a way to set up Classic99 so that it defaults to CPU Overdrive? Any way to speed up the Paste XB process? System configuration, etc?
Sinphaltimus
Is there a way to set up Classic99 so that it defaults to CPU Overdrive? Any way to speed up the Paste XB process? System configuration, etc? 1. In the options dialog. 2. also in the options dialog (right above CPU overdrive defaults) - that might help. Tursi
Slow down keyboard just patches in some hacks to prevent key repeat when you are running the CPU faster than normal. There's no way to speed up a paste. It already activates CPU overdrive and the TI code underneath still needs to run. That's as quick as it goes.

As a matter of fact, it would be pretty darn cool ! Edited January 1, 2017 by sometimes99er
Retrospect
I've seen code pasted into Classic99 at differing speeds - Is it not down to actual speed of PC in the end? Anyhow - here is an online app that lets you code Extended Basic into it, and literally, produces a file. You might want to knock off the .BIN extension before you load it up into Classic99. Owing to the nature of how it works, some interesting results can be reaped - one can for instance write things that would not pass the parser in real-time extended basic environment, and in that case, often it will crash the computer. http://nivelleringslikaren.eu/ti994a_basic/ Edited January 1, 2017 by Retrospect
Airshack
I tried the options/options system maximum this time. Not sure why it wasn't working when I previously selected CPU Overdrive? @Tursi: I had that button for CPU Overdrive selected previously yet the emulator opened in normal mode? Airshack
The speed for pasting XB code into Classic99 is fast on my desktop yet painfully slow on my laptop. Wondering if it's CPU or RAM which impacts import speed most? Ps - Much quicker than typing code into the TI keyboard mess myself. A MUCH APPRECIATED OPTION here. Tursi
You can't make Classic99 run all the time in Overdrive mode. Lots of things reset it back to normal. To know if the speed drop is CPU or RAM, use task manager to see whether your system is swapping. It also depends on what you're pasting into, since paste works by intercepting KSCAN. It's really more of a convenience feature than a primary input system. Unfortunately, for BASIC or XB you either use an external tool or let this run. If you're loading text files into anything else, though, you can read them directly from the file system. Much faster than pasting.
