neo*fan
I am when I see this endless list of upcoming games gwaah Plus, I had completely forgot about the third group of games that I had pre-ordered, you could probably have fooled most of us For those like me wondering what the hell there was in the third group, here's what I found from an email (Alas can't remember if mystery games 1 and 2 have been uncovered yet ) 17) SECRET OF THE MOAI>> http://teampixelboy.com/secret_moai.php>> This is a ColecoVision port of the MSX game "Moai no Hihou". It's a cute> puzzle game where you play> as a mouse who explores the (surprisingly) hollow Moai statues on Easter> Island looking for hidden> treasure.>>> 18) C-SO!>> http://teampixelboy.com/c_so.php>> A port of the SG-1000 game, you play as a rich kid who happens to be a master> playground designer.> You have to get rid of bullies who are trespassing in your carefully built> playgrounds, while also> collecting fruits and flowers along the way.>>> 19) OPERATION WOLF>> http://teampixelboy.com/operation_wolf.php>> Specially recoded for the ColecoVision, this faithful arcade adaptation comes> to you from the makers> of Majikazo! All six levels from the arcade version are included, together> with intermissions and> plenty of action!>>> 20) KING & BALLOON>> http://teampixelboy.com/king_balloon.php>> Another MSX port of the little-known arcade game of the same name. You have> to protect your king> from invading balloon-riding kidnappers! It's a surprisingly fun arcade game,> complete with> Galaga-style bonus rounds!>>> 21) MYSTERY GAME #1>> This brand new, original (and still unnamed) ColecoVision exclusive is> currently being worked on by> the creator of Caos Begins. From the early work I've been shown so far, the> game looks to be an> action adventure that reminds me a little bit of Crystalis on the NES, in> terms of style. It looks> very promissing, and the author told me that he's working to make his game> run on the> ColecoVision/ADAM without the Super Game Module.>>> 22) MYSTERY GAME #2>> The makers of Majikazo are behind this title, and they don't even want to> tell me what it is yet!> All they have told me so far is that their new game will be an arcade> adaptation, coded from scratch> specifically for the ColecoVision. It will apparently be some kind of> platformer, with a two-player> dual play mode (whatever that means). The Super Game Module will be required. Anyhow, move over Dr Wily! You don't need an army of robots to take over the world, you just need an army of video game cartridges! Behold and tremble!!!

Pixelboy
Is that the children of the night? Yep. Children of the Night and Wizard of Wor were the two mystery games.
Pixelboy
New stuff to show this week-end, namely the boxes of Kralizec Tetris which I received two days ago, and the Shouganai and Txupinazo carts all assembled. See pictures below. In other news, Frostbite is (finally) very close to passing its beta-testing phase, and the programmer of Yars' Revenge is actively working towards the delivery of the first beta release candidate later this month. I'm also hoping to receive the boxes of Shmup! from the printer before the end of February.

Pixelboy
Quick update: No pictures to show this week, because I decided to focus my free time on preparing the second batch of budget game manual templates these past few days (when I wasn't stuck shoveling snow, that is). I'll be finishing this up today and then I will place the print order for this second lot of manuals with my local print shop. No change on the status of Frostbite and Yars' Revenge since last week, but I do have a small bit of good news: The boxes for Shmup! and Sudoku will be shipped shortly, and I should receive them roughly a week from now. Thank you for your continued patience.

+nanochess
At last I've found time to port Uridium Thanks to ARTRAG for providing the MSX source code, it makes faster and easier to port the game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFnsuYQRumc

youki
the scrolling effect is really impressive for the VDP. Does the MSX version is as smooth as this one? or did you improve it? I had played the MSX version , i did not remember to have been so impressed by the scrolling .

I had played the MSX version , i did not remember to have been so impressed by the scrolling . It comes that way from MSX, ARTRAG did a really impressive job there. Don't forget to check the multicolor sprites.

Kiwi
Really cool! And no VRAM corruption too! You did a very nice job porting it from the MSX version.

artrag
I'm still trying to run the rom in my emulator. Tonight I will give another try to bluemsx (sgm version). I did a quick test on coolcv but it does not work smoothly on my pc. In the following two considerations: 1) If all colecovisions have tms vdps it could be useful to remove the Toshiba optionin the setup and the code that tests for that flag in the scrolling loop. 2) Having lost the scc audio option one could try to compensate by using the second psg (the cv sn768) in some ways, eg. for sfx or for audio speech. It could be the first coleco game to use the voice encoder on the isr ported to coleco and TI99/4a with Tursi. This one http://atariage.com/forums/topic/255860-voice-playback/page-2?do=findComment&comment=3578874 The msx version is here https://youtu.be/A4AyR2-pNXU Edited February 15, 2017 by artrag

Makes me think of the game Return To Genesis on Amiga and Atari ST The result is impressive for a Colecovision, it looks like a C64 game Edited February 18, 2017 by neo*fan
