Is Jaguar Emulation dead?

Virtual Jaguar is still being worked on and updated:

While the official releases have certainly been slow, there are periodic updates that aren't quite official yet, but mostly work fine. You can find several of the most recent updates here:

Jag emulation still has a long way to go, but there is certainly active development on it, and it's improved quite a bit over the last few years.

New builds? Oh nice! Thanks for sharing.

Everyone here knows I'm interested in everything emulation. And as the console people love to hate, jag hasn't gained popularity nor much emulator support. And that's unfortunate because there are indeed a couple of games I'm interested in. But whatever.

The Jag isn't a simple architecture to emulate, hence why emulator support has been slow. However, if you would read my post above instead of constantly complaining, you would see that the situation is improving.

Yes I can see that now. Now that I'm back a "proper" not-mobile desktop sorry for the rudeness. It happens the best of us.

Do you believe the jag architecture to be more difficult than the n64? It seems that once MIPS and/or multi-processors came on the scene - that's when emulation gets thorny.

Oh sure mame does multi-processors, but they're so much simpler like 8 and 16 bitters.

Same seems to be the case with Saturn emulation too. All those fiddly co-processors complicated everything! On the flip side, you had the PS1, with it's simpler architecture, which was very well emulated while it was still being sold in retail.

I feel like if a system has a popular final fantasy it will be emulated quickly :P.
