Frankie
Are there any connectors that can be used to relocate one of the 40-pin Atari chips / i.e. pokey? There isn't much room in an 800 tank-case and I want to see if I can put a stereo board in it. The problem is the pokey is facing the wrong way. I don't know what those idc connectors are called so I can google for it. Frank Like one of these connectors but twice as wide. What are they called? BillC
Now if I only didn't have to buy 1000 Hmmmm Sorry, I only noticed the price of $1.14, I wouldn't have posted if I had noticed the minimum quantity. I did find it at another site, only $1.68 but UPS shipping to Florida would be $10.02 http://www.king-cart.com/phoenixent/product=MALE-IDC+CABLE+MOUNT+.1SP+IDC+HEADERS+%2526+DIP+IDC+PLUGS/exact_match=exact Edited January 17, 2017 by BillC

+Larry
I ran into this same issue a few years ago, and found these connectors (same as used in the Ultimate 1MB, I believe). But for the other half of the problem, I didn't find an off-the-shelf solution. How to "cleanly" mount the IC that had been moved? Soldering each individual wire to the thru-hole pins of a 40-pin socket was the only solution I found. I ended up mounting the IC on a piece of veroboard, and then insulating the bottom of the board. Works, but definitely not a "clean" solution, IMO. Any better options? -Larry
