Lord Helmet
Thinking about picking up a Super Video Arcade, but I want to mod it for composite video. Has anyone done this with any of the kits that are readily available? I've seen tutorials on modding a standard INTV, but not the Sears variation... +KylJoy
It will be the same as a model I, I believe. Why not go crazy and install a RGB mod, too? I suppose the added expense of a Framemeister xRGBmini or some other device makes that less attractive.
SiLic0ne t0aD
Yes, I've done it. Same as modding any other other Intellivision (except Intv II), no difference really. I added a power led while I was at it too. I think they're the best model, detachable controllers and good ventilation on the back for heat to escape.. They look pretty snazzy as well. The SVA is a great choice, you won't regret it. I'd kill for a RGB kit, unfortunately I can't find them anymore.. Should have jumped on it sooner. If anybody has a spare kit, I'd gladly buy it.. Or if anyone knows where I can buy one, please let me know!
mthompson
I've modded my Sears SVA also, and it was easy. Once you remove the top of the case, you'd hardly know it's not the Mattel. The only difference under the hood is the two controller cable extenders.
