Shift838
I sacrificed one of my cartridges that I have multiples of (TI Invaders) and cut off carefully the piece of the cartridge to use to insert in the cartridge port on the main board. Used a Ribbon cable to strip the ends and solder them to the piece of the Cartridge L connector Cartridge (L connector) port view (i believe this is the right pinout scheme) ====================== |2 36| |1 35| ====================== using the salvaged cut cartridge, solder odd wires on the back side of board (so pin 1 is on the backside left far pin) and even wires on top. Solder the odd wires on the back of the L Connector and Even wires on the Front of the L connector. So just a straight through. Then plug the salvaged cartridge board in the port on the 99/4A with Pin 1 to the left. Does this sound right or do I have something off? I have done this and when I plug it in and boot the TI up with a cartridge in the L connector and I just get a black screen and a tone. unplug the cartridge and it boots. I have checked and verified there are no bridged connections and continuity seems to be good from the respective pins on the salvaged board to the L connectors pin (provided my interpretion is correct of the pin layout). I am wondering if I have something wrong with my interpretation of how the connector needs to be wired. Thanks..
Shift838
i got it working. My perspective was off. I actually just needed to reverse the pins on one side of the cable. The L shape adapter threw me off. Now I have a 16" cartridge extension cable...
