I have decided to sell my ATW800 since I know someone will appreciate it more and take good care of it. I'm in the middle of going through separation and I would like it to go to a good home.

In saying that I'm not giving it away I paid $4000 CAN for the unit and will not accept any less if it sells great if not oh well. Also may trade for video game stuff of equal value.

Is prefer to do the transaction in person even if I have to drive a fair distance. If need be I could get the unit crated and shipped at your cost.

I will post all the info when I get home from work tonight.. For the meantime you can check out my other posts on my unit.

I had to look it up too. Anyhow, it's interesting to see the concept of the "transputer" has been absorbed into GPUs. What with their hundreds of small cores and everything.

Uhm, for clarity, in that post you said :

"Good day I recently purchased a large lot of computer stuff and this was part of the lot" -

Sooo....you are saying you paid $4000 CAN specifically for this unit or you paid that for the entire lot? Just wondering how you have that specific amount applied to this item? Perhaps I missed some detail somewhere.

i paid $6000 for the lot or i could have paid $2000 without the ATW800 so i paid $4000. That is what i want for the unit if i don't get it ill keep it.

Such an interesting part of microprocessor history. I'd plan on keeping it.

I know most people are not willing to pay this much it will probably stay, but may trade something(s) that interest me more.

Wait, so you purchased 90% of the computers listed here in one lot for $2K CAD:

http://www.classiccmp.org/dunfield/

And then decided to throw in another $4K CAD for the one transputer that you didn't know anything about? That seems like a mighty expensive gamble. Its cool though. I hope you get your money back on it!

it's not up for debate I knew it was rare after researching it i didn't mind borrowing extra money to get it. Now i'm selling it for 4k and this is the last reply on how much i paid for it. the price is what it is and the machine is what it is.

Wow, that is a tad bit snippy. I was just curious as to what made you make the leap of paying double for one machine than what you did for apparently dozens of rare/semi rare/common machines. You are the one who told us what you paid. I didn't ask you. Yeesh.

Sorry if it came off that way my apology just trying to put my transputer on the market, not break down how much and the reasons i paid what I did for everyone. There where some machines left out of the deal too like the Altairs and some apple stuff. I have sold/traded off most of the stuff and have kept most of what i wanted. I'm still in the hole 3-4k so this machine is my break even. I would like to "invest" it back into my true passion which is retro gaming.

stuff i kept was a superpet, C128, C64, amiga 500, amiga 2000 and TRS-80 Model 3.. the rest didn't really care to much about.

again sorry for sounding snippy I just don't feel like explaining my finances or reasoning for my price.

Its ok, understood and apology accepted. Its a cool computer and definitely a piece of computing history that is pretty forgotten (or not even known of by most at all!) and good luck on the sale. There can't be many of these in existence I imagine.

I have talked to a couple of people with them but who knows how many still actually exist.

I'd love to add it to my collection and I talked to zmame about it before but also understand the circumstances.

If it happens you'll see it.
