+intellivotion
There are only about 30-40 meters between the OCC's doors and that hotel. They could almost name it "In the Convention Center"
+SoulBuster
I've decided to go with the Inn at the Convention Center. That is where I am booked at. I stayed there last year. It is very convenient and at about $100 a night it is not very expensive for just a standard everyday hotel room.
Intymike
I will stay the 2 weeks around the expo in Portland. The hotel seems to be a good place to start my excursions in and around the town.

+intellivotion
I'm quite optimistic. However, 1. I must ask my boss 2. I must be authorized to enter the US (ESTA procedure) 3. I must buy the flight ticket 4. I must book a room 5. I must buy the weekend pass to PRGE Then, I must find some money to survive in the meantime
S1500
I'll be going this year. Staying at the Crowne Plaza. Really wished I checked the official website for hotel specialls before booking on Orbitz. Either way, I'll have a non-convention day to myself to see if I can find any of the filming locations for Portlandia. No checked baggage, just me & a backpack. I haven't gone to PRGE in years. I must buy the flight ticket 4. I must book a room 5. I must buy the weekend pass to PRGE Then, I must find some money to survive in the meantime 1) Call in sick 2) Just fly to Mexico and walk across the border like so many other people, but maybe Vancouver Canada will be closer and then you can get a ride from Cmart 3) There is enough time to look ahead into becoming a cabin boy on a ocean freighter that would go to the Portland port, so no flight will be needed. 4) Rev will let you sleep under the booth table 5) Since you'll be sleeping in the booth, you just need to get the first day pass to get inside for the first time, then you are good to go for the entire weekend, but you can never leave the exhibit hall Survive until then? It is 4 months away. Just do some intermittent fasting and you'll save plenty of money on not needing to purchase as much food. Problem solved.. I am also quite optimistic you'll make it there.

I must purchase Amtrak tickets 2. I must not stare into the sun 3. I must not gaze upon Medusa, no matter how cute 4. I must not taught Happy Fun Ball 5. I must remember to pack my Intellivision T-shirts since fishnet shirts are frowned upon 6. I must ask my boss for the dates off, though I know he prefers figs. tschak909
I'm from way down in Texas, but I've been going to PRGE, because: * The most welcoming atmosphere I have ever seen of any expo. * Lots of good friends that i've slowly cultivated over the last few years. * It seems to be just the right nexus for all the big vendors to come at once. * Lots of great talks, Oddly enough, my favorite was Tod Frye's lecture on the red-blue kernel (interleaved indirection) * Good chance that I'll be spending time @ Kevin Savetz's place helping identify an Atari artifact * and then some... -Thom

TrekMD
Alright, I am attending PRGE again this year. Really had a great time last year and I want to experience it again. Got my schedule all figured out. Flights are done and so is the hotel (The Inn at the Convention Center). Looking forward to meeting up with folks there again. +Lathe26
Anyone planning to stay on the west side of the river? While you won't be next to the convention center (only a light rail trip away), you will be in the heart of a lot of other cool stuff in Portland. +Lathe26
I will be there Wednesday thru Tuesday. Staying at the McMenamins Crystal Hotel, complete with McMenamins beer and a soaking pool (great for a day of standing on concrete floors).
