Austin
If that video was anything to go by, it was probably canned because it was sub-par. Or maybe there was a different reason.. who knows. Honestly, it looks pretty poor by Sunsoft standards.

NinjaWarrior
The SNES version was made by ICOM Simulations I don't know who they are But I think why Sunsoft canned it, Poor Job on it While the Genesis version was made by Ringler Studios The NES version was made by Sunsoft
Austin
Ah, OK. ICOM was known mostly for their adventure games. Shadowgate, Uninvited, Deja Vu.. games like that. Platformers weren't their expertise, that's for sure.
NinjaWarrior
Seems like Synapse made the NES version not Sunsoft it says it on NA
NinjaWarrior
The Genesis version is harder then the NES version
Jess Ragan
What the hell is a Ringler? Sounds like the Batman villain nobody liked. Anyway. The Genesis version of this game is capital T terrible. The NES version is impressive visually but is hard enough (and cheap enough) to make you want to punch a hole through concrete.

NinjaWarrior
I played it up too 3-2, Not bad of a Game I don't know why it get hated on Also, People saying the Controls are clucky I don't have any problems with the controls, If Sunsoft done the Genesis version, It would be on par with the NES version

Good game but still inferior to the first one in my opinion. While the game is beautiful looking for a NES game and the first stage and snow stage music - whoa; my main gripe I had back then and even today that it really doesn't feel like a Batman game. I miss the repelling and grappling aspect from the first one. Really could've used a Batmobile and Batwing stage instead of Batman w/ a jetpack???
Trebor
There's a good comparison and review of the three versions (NES, Genesis, SNES) from SNES Central. Added bonus of the SNES Proto ROM included at the end. Under the NES, it's a 384KB game with FME-7/Sunsoft 5 cart hardware providing IRQ support that minimizes console processing for things such as the cool split-screen effects. The game is as challenging as it is impressive looking. The NES port is by far the best version of the three. However, especially starting with Stage 6, through Stage 7, between the jungle areas and tank battles, in addition to the final boss, it really made the game feel much more like a Contra title than a Batman one to me.
