ColecoVision Music archives?

Hi all,

I've lurked around the forums for a while, picking up tid bits of awesome info on classic gaming, but one area that has always fascinated me, a sentiment which also seems to be shared around here, was the music of these classic treasures. Is there by chance, an archive or collection of music taken from the colecovision/adam era of gaming such as the Atari SAP music archive? I'd love to listen to the music of Princess Quest or Dragon's lair (purely) as they, among with many others, had some truly excellent tunes for their time. Thanks for any info

That's funny, I was just thinking the same but was also interested in if there were any documentaries or books on sound creation for these games? I found Beep but I get the impression from the trailer that it will cover more modern sound creation. Can anybody recommend Beep or know of any other films out there or books on the topic?

Sorry didn't mean to hijack your post :)

A bunch of people were working on something similar to this

Alot of CV tunes came from classical compositions

So we tried to compile a list of them

I would LOVE to see someone doing a CD full of these compositions! :lust:

Here's what I've archived:

Antarctic Adventure: Skater's Waltz
Smurf Rescue: - Joseph Brackett Jr.'s 1848 songm Simple Gifts
- Beethoven's 1808 Symphony Number 6, Pastoral
Gyruss has parts of Bach's "Toccata & Fugue in D Minor" as does the intro screen to Donkey Kong, Jr.
Can Can" dance song was also heard in Root Beer Tapper
Fortune Builder was , I believe, the piece "The Four Seasons"
Frenzy has elements from Igor Stravinsky's Rite of Spring
Pepper II : Alfred Hitchcock Presents theme.
Within the game, one of the tunes you're referring to is "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah."
Spy Hunter - Peter Gunn

Daniel's Colecovision game track:

Crazy Train in Sidetrak
Ghostbuster theme in Ghostblaster

Awesome Tetris soundtrack in Bomb n Blast

Boxxle music in Boxxle

There's more music he made like DacMan ending theme. Flora music is pretty unique. He really does a good job composing music over to the Colecovision.
