In case anyone is in need of an MBX expansion system, complete with "Championship Baseball" and the overlay:

I never use it anymore, and I want to use what I have. I am not wealthy enough to be a "collector," and I don't have enough time to be a preservationist, so I'd rather not hoard the goods....

Trading it in... not interested in cash (Unless it is enough to buy what I want in trade, and one is available) :)

Bit too exotic for me, for the same reasons but I'd love to get a PEB with all the trimmings... In the UK.

yessss- I'd love a PEB too.  cool picture!

unfortunately all my computer stuff in the office is from the late 90s onward- mostly some computer software, RAM DIMMs, maybe a switch box or something.

if you are in need of a 75 pound 22" CRT monitor, i have several of those too!  ;) ;) ;)

Problem with the MBX is that is takes a lot of desk space and once the novelty subsides it kind of loses its luster and it sits mostly unused.

So its mostly attractive to collectors...

Got a couple offers on Facebook via PM. Might be able to move the MBX and get a TRS Model 1 with monitor and drives.

Also had a guy interested in parting with an Apple IIe Platinum with monitor.

In really want a Model 3 or 4 TRS, but we will see what happens. :)

I sold my Model 4 a couple of years ago. Great machine and I did a lot of Turbo Pascal 3.0 under Montezuma CP/M with it. Not enough space unfortunately to keep it operational.

Again I definitely appreciate the technical aspects of the MBX, but I hate to have unused hardware sitting around. I just don't have the collector bug... Back in 1999, I had a complete MBX in box with all of the games, also in their original boxes. My kids had a blast with it, particularly Honey Hunt, but eventually moved on to other things. Ended up selling it before I moved to MN...

Looks like an Apple IIe deal is in the works. It is a platinum... not exactly what I wanted, but it comes with a monitor and a DuoDisk... the DuoDisk is missing the cable, so it is technically untested.

Don't let people fool you, the Platinum is a fantastic machine and well named. Some people give it crap for the updates it received, but they are good updates. ;)

Well, it is a lovely machine... I am doing well with this trade, I think.

I wish I could cram a IIe into a II plus chassis though. There are no other machines that feel quite like a II plus... and it is beautiful, with the tan and brown.

Curious as to what's the market value these days for one?  I've got a boxed complete MBX system and was just recently considering parting with it..

That's a gorgeous example you've got there and a hell of a machine! Talking about the ][e of course.

You done good considering your yellowed/beat-up unit methinks. Price and demand must have gone up on them since I bought my mint/boxed unit. Some goys have all the luck!   :rolling:

My MBX is in pretty decent shape. It is yellowed a bit. Similar IIe units have gone on eBay recently for $130ish. The one I am getting doesn't have tested drives, so I hope all goes well.

Let's just say your definition of "pretty decent shape" and mine varies a bit.  :P

Perhaps... but as far as value goes, would you say my MBX is worth less than $120 or $130?

It seems to me (and I may be misunderstanding, so forgive me) that you are suggesting I am ripping the fellow off. The listings below are much more fully featured and complete than the system I am getting.

I don't think the MBX is overvalued, or that the market has changed drastically on it... I think perhaps the Apple II market may be slightly lower currently than you may think.
