digdugnate
We use primarily SMT1500RM2U units where I work (with the odd 3000 thrown in places) and generally we've had really good luck with them supporting our network infrastructure. Though.. I have used the 'Nuke and Pave' option when I bricked the firmware on one of the APC 9630 NICs.
+OLD CS1
we did as well, their support is practically non existant, and the devices are meant to be disposable if the battery dies ...we went back to APC This. And the monitoring software for CyberPower has not been impressive to me. I rather like PowerChute's features. One HUGE problem I have with APC UPSes is they will continue to trickle-charge a bad battery or battery pack. This eventually leads to over-heated and swollen, cracked, or leaking batteries. In some units this makes it impossible to remove the batteries without disassembling the unit.

Omega-TI
I picked up two of these at Staples, but you can get them at Amazon for under $170.00 with free shipping << HERE >>. I like the EASILY REPLACEABLE battery pack, so a few years down the line when I'll probably need to replace the battery, all I'll need to do is remove the door, slide out the battery and shove the new one in. So far I've been happy with it and it's been getting good ratings.

UGH, i hear you. i ended up bending the frame in the center on one that was swollen and leaking, and even then it took some degree of trouble to get the stupid thing out. Omega-TI
Good to know this is a possibility_ I will be sure to inspect them every 3 months after the 2 year mark and replace them at 3 years. No battery lasts forever. Thanks.
