Papa_Bear
Title says it all! Looking for some flavor of the commodore monitor that is known to work without dying.
AtariLeaf
Hard to guarantee them "not dying" when they're already 30+ years old.

AtariLeaf
The 1702's are great monitors. Problem is if you can't find it locally, shipping might make the price less than attractive. Good luck in your hunt
Papa_Bear
We have oscilloscopes reaching 60+ years and they still work like a dream out there. There is on on ebay for 180 with free shipping . it says "tested and working" but who knows what tested means
eightbit
These monitors are hard to get and even harder to ship. I recently traded one and even with all of my careful efforts (original box with foam, inside a larger heavy duty box with lots of padding) it still arrived cracked. I will not ship another one ever again needless to say. I would advise to keep trying locally (craigslist). It might take a long time, but it is better to go and pick it up as opposed to having it shipped...trust me on this.
Papa_Bear
I've been tempted to learn how to repair the C/16 monitor but everyone and their mother has told me it's not worth saving
