This time it's 2600's Video Chess (Lv. 6, on Stella at 300 framerate to speed it up) as white, vs. Chess.com's web based computer as black at Lvl. 2. The cool thing about Chess.com is it auto-annotates the game so I can paste it below. I still think it's a huge feat that in friggin 1979 the VCS even had a chess game in the first place that could actually PLAY.. And look.. it beat chess.com! Video Chess is my favorite Chess program - imo level 6 is the most fun on classic hardware with it's 12 minutes of mood tube color transitions between moves, no other Chess program does that! Some of the 4K Chess programs from the 70's are really impressive; my other favorite is the 1977 Fidelity Chess Challenger; I bet it could beat Chess.com as well. Not long at all.. maybe 2 hours, but a lot of times I let it sit while I did something else so it was probably much much quicker. Level 7 on the VCS takes too long.. so Level 6 is its most reasonable "best". And like I said, I played it on Stella with the framerate jacked up, so it made the VCS Lvl6 do moves a LOT faster than normal. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
