Just wanted to update you.  After reading your reply about S-video quality, I received my S-Video cable today and all I can say is "wow" on the 800 S-video output, with the 130XE being a definite wow as well.  The 800 (or mine at least) is a bit too bright in fact, but the sharpness is incredible.  The 130XE is incredibly sharp and the brightness level is spot on, so I am giving the nod to the 130XE until I can figure out why the 800 is too bright.

I have used composite on the 8-bit for many years now, but have never seen anything quite like the S-Video output!

This is simple and extremely effective for fixing the 800's video:

Heh, you should see the Apple scene. Some early serial# consoles going for $3000 and up. Standard-issue accelerator boards and certain sound cards $600 or more. Individual (truly rare disks) in the hundreds or even thousands.. Lisa computers for $50,000 and up. Drive assemblies for those, $40,000.

Which makes no sense for that system..

I'm trying to get a complete Coleco ADAM, before they disappear.

(Yeah, laugh. But that machine truly was more than the sum of its parts... It really is a miracle that it even was engineered, much less even SHIPPED!)

Thom, keep an eye out. Not sure if your price range but I saw one for sale on one of the FB marketplace pages recently (last two weeks or so).

Yup, I'm watching eBay, but am also getting in touch with the guys who get them and fix them up as well (the DDP drives always need love and care, and the two main sellers in the community consistently seem to do good work for a decent price, so as soon as I can jump, I will.)

The hysteria continues!

$455  http://www.ebay.com/...-MAAOSw3gJZF6ou

$680  http://www.ebay.com/...KcAAOSwYlRZFKR7

$250  http://www.ebay.com/...noAAOSw~y9ZHfqE

"Soylent Green is PEOPLE !!"  For the love of humanity, STOP THIS INSANITY!

The middle one might be a BS account  11 sales,  most recent sales were $1, $1, $1.25.

Some of this has to be flipping going on to make some extra bucks..

I also wish there was a way to report/delist "I buy vintage computer$$$$$" asshats on craigslist..
