dj_sudo
I know there's been some talk of replacement metal stickers for the controller, I ordered some 1" aluminum disks from a metal remnants place and this is the result. A tiny bit small but I think it's acceptable. It also is much thicker than the original disk, which means it sits higher and doesn't give me blisters when I'm using it. And yes, I know this controller is gross. Just found it in an ancient box, still has to be completely refurbed!
+Yurkie
real discs have the spiral rings from being turned on a lathe.
Osgeld
if I were faced with missing or totally fubar disks this looks acceptable, and it sounds like its easily sourced and no the rings were stamped, they didnt sit there with a lathe and spin out thousands of perfectly flat aluminum disks at what 6 sheets of paper thin, lol its laminated sheet stock (glue metal plastic) and die stamped / cut, with the individual component shipped in from china and or Taiwan from a 3rd party Edited May 3, 2017 by Osgeld

ianoid
Pretty nice for turnkey. I'm also interested in Intellivision disks and Arcadia disks (which have a hole in the center).
dj_sudo
These are 1" grained 304 aluminum disks from metalremnants.com (I have no connection to that site, it's just where I bought them). I got 18GA but if I had to order again I might get 22GA instead. If you wanted the spin effect you could use sandpaper but honestly it doesn't bother me. $0.55 each, pretty decent.
